So we have to start thinking where we are meeting on Saturday morning at what time.. I say we skip Berdoo canyon and do Old dale mine road.. this means people with out a pass might have to pay to get into Joshua tree park, but they might not.. any thoughts?

Damn you should be a salesman :p

I want to. I gotta talk to my wife though and see if she has anything planned. We usually have her family over A few times a month and it's been a while so I'm not sure if she has anything planned.

What's the general itinerary look like?

    Meet sat morning
    Wheel all day saturday (where)
Find camp Saturday night and chill (where)
    Go home Sunday morning

meet sat morning in yucca valley. Wheel in joshua tree national park then to Giant rock (for lunch), then to johnson valley. Set up camp, then "play" in JV anything from sand dunes to extreme rock crawling. lotta cool stuff to see. "finger rock", mines, petroglyphs on the rocks of rodman mountain, giant rock. Chances are good that some of the King of the Hammers rigs will be out there testing there rigs up some of the gnarliest trails around...

should be a fun couple days...

I plan on staying in the area all day sunday to do some real exploring... theres alot to see...

joshua tree has a $10 entry fee(i think), everything else is free (except gas:D)

I am thinking we should meet at Old Dale Road, Latitude: 33.828011 Longitude: -115.759123. This is the starting of the trial. It is in Joshua Tree Park.. You can go through the south entrance of the park, past Indio off the 10 (cottonwood Spring Road).. Sometimes there is no rangers so you get in free sometimes you don't.. lol

Wondering if the Castle Inn bar is still out by Landers??,,awesome food there. Rode my ass off out by Giant rock and twoards 29 palms base on my YZ. Nice little light duty rock climb road across the Giant Rock dry lake bed twoard the base, allows you to climb up and overlook the base, usually see tanks rumbing along. Not to steep if I remember right, a properly equipped Yota or 2 could make it.

    I miss the desert.

It is a 2hr. drive for me(208 miles). The long/ lat coordinates above are about 15 miles into the park. That might take another 30 min. I can make it by 10am if I leave at 7am. I will bring my CB and monitor channel 20.

I will need to get gas in 29palms.

Im still in the air. If I go though:

how do I use those coordinates to find the exact meeting location? Will my iPhone be able to track those coordinates?

What are typical night temps? Cold Im assuming.
