Unfortunately you're going to be at the mercy of the connection speed which I HIGHLY doubt is anything newer than USB2.0 speeds. Anything local should be fairly quick I'd think but as long as it's flash I'm betting it comes down to drive formatting and the connection.

You said you used T-Mobile 3-1 sim kit. Did you just use data plus digits to copy your phone sim or did you just pay for another line all together? I just ordered this radio today. Seems like a pretty nice upgrade over entune. Thanks!

Not bad overall. I did have to drill my own holes in the factory brackets that the radio is held in by, but that's about it. The other thing I had to find out was you have to connect the can out to the can in on the back of the unit. There's a couple 2 prong connectors on the back of the joying unit that need to be connected to each other and they weren't out of the box. I had to figure that one out as it wasn't in any instructions. You also need to select your vehicle type in the settings of the unit and then you're steering wheel controls will work.

many pictures of the install? Wondering how that size of screen fits in with the rest of the dash.

I am regretting not installing the joying unit I purchased a while back. I had a 2016 but decided to upgrade to a 2020 with the OEM CarPlay and sold the Joying unit I had. The OEM head unit is still a POS though. I think they are 10 years behind on Bluetooth, horrible interface. If they didn’t have CarPlay, the 2020 head unit would be worse than the 2016.

Ordered one of these for my GX470 and I'm curious which data plan people are using. I'm kind of hoping I'll be able to get it enabled on AT&T for a $20 unlimited plan.

    EDIT: I got everything working.

I hooked up my 10.5 screen and installed a SIM card.

For some reason, I can’t watch you tube even tho there is service on the unit.

I have to tether/hotspot WiFi from my phone in order for YouTube to start loading.

Hopefully it’s a setting issue I missed some where?

Otherwise paying for a SIM card is a waste of money if it’s only good for gps to be online.

For those of you who have purchased the joying units how long did it take to get to you? I am looking to place an order but I’m concerned with shipping due to the state of the world right now. Anyone buy recently? They use DHL that’s what they told me.

I purchased one maybe 3 months ago and purchased another one for my other vehicle. Both time was about 7-10 delivery time by DHL. I'm not sure how long it will take now with all this craziness going around the world.

I'm not sure which generation Tacoma you have but for 3rd gen, try changing the setting on your cluster by navigating with the steering wheel buttons. I know there is a setting in there for mph/km.

Also go in the car info icon and check in there. You CAN change the setting but I forgot where.

Like someone just mentioned. It's in the setting using password 3368 to change setting.

I got this 3-4 months ago and don't regret it. FYI, i was able to use the oem antenna. You would have to buy 2 more connectors to make the oem antenna work so you don't have that extra gps module sticking out of your dash. Let me know if you want more info on the 2 item required.

pic is my 10.5 screen size compared to the 10.1.

Wow, is this a Tesla?! Kidding aside, looks awesome and is a much needed improvement vs. the small stock screen.

It’s actually a big improvement than the entune junk!

Antenna is only for nav on the head unit or for radio reception too? I want to retain all possible factory equipment.

Antenna is separate from gps. Radio is a silver type plug and gps is a screw in similar to the xm radio.
gps, xm radio and radio antenna are all different. They give you an adapter for the radio to fit right in.

So the radio antenna is included in harness from joying that you buy in addition to the radio and the gps is a separate harness I also need to purchase?

I'm having trouble figuring out which one of the yellow plugs I need to use to get my rear camera working. Any hints? I get no signal right now.

    Edit: I worked it out!
