The optima battery tray I bought had four holes on the bottom for mounting. I just pulled out the stock battery tray, used the new tray as a template, and drilled four holes and mounted the new tray with some nuts and bolts.

No, I just extended the OEM cables (spliced in more wire) and put on new terminals

Its been a while since I updated this, and I wish I had more to update with. But I bought a home a few months ago, so most of my disposable income has gone into the house.

Anyways, I replaced my ARB rocker switch covers with some Contura laser etched switch covers from here; http://otrattw.com/index.php. I think they give it a more factory look, which I like. I also relocated them to the upper switch slots; before I found I was hitting the switches with my knee inadvertently.

Looking good man! Are you the same Jsmarine from T4R.ORG?? Now I know why you haven't been around there! lol!

I recently bought a 2005 TRD Sport DCLB, started the modding process, but plan on a lift and tires in the spring....

Check out my build sometime, and let me know what you think! :)

I just picked up an RTT, and am scouring forums for rack ideas... I know what I want to do, and some of these threads have really been helping me with ideas. Great looking truck! I remember seeing that ARB catalog a few years back. Nice Taco!

Was reading your build on T4R, why did you end up ditching the 3rd gen 4runner for a 2nd gen Taco?

I loved that 4runner, but it didn't meet my needs anymore. I needed a truck bed.

Installed new OME 886 coils and struts last weekend. Had my brother help me and he posted a video on his YouTube channel. I had 886 and OME struts before, but they had about 95,000 miles on them, so it was time. The struts were pretty bad in fact after we got them off. I replaced the rear shocks as well, but we didn't get a video or pictures of that.

The video he posted is a how-to, and for those that dont know how to replace your front coilovers, this is a pretty easy method that doesn't require a spring compressor. Just be careful, but its easy. Hope you guys dont mind a shameless plug here, but please check out the videos, and my brothers other videos. He is actually fixing up an old C10 Chevy pickup as a project and is documenting a few how-to videos on YouTube of his progress.

Recently I rebuilt my Warn 9.5XP winch, and replaced the old steel line with Warn's Spydura 3/8"x100' synthetic line. I had my brother give me a hand with all this, and he shot some video of the process and uploaded it to his YouTube channel.

The whole process was pretty straight forward; we just disassembled the winch, cleaned off all the old grease with brake cleaner and paint thinner, then re-packed it with new grease, put on new gaskets, and put it back together.

Along with the new synthetic winch line, I decided to replace the rollers on the fairlead with Daystar rollers, rather than use a hawse fairlead.

Check out the video for the whole process, it was pretty interesting actually seeing how the planetary gears work.

EDIT: I got everything from Amazon.com by the way; the new line, rollers, warn gaskets, and even one of the bolts that I lost that holds the planetary housing on the winch. You can find all the part numbers from the Warn website.

Thanks! No feedback on the poly rollers yet; I have not had to use the winch since I rebuilt it. But I think the poly rollers will work just fine.

This past week I bought 5 new BF Goodrich KM2 tires, in 255/85 R16. I love this size, they look great.

Well guys, I’m still here. Been lurking again recently, and hope to have some updates to the truck in the next few weeks; got some new stuff I’m going to install.

In the mean time, I thought I would post a little afternoon project I made today. I got this idea online from one of these I saw for sale somewhere. It’s a holder for your Scepter fuel nozzle. I used a 4” to 2” reducer, and then a 2” to 1 ¼” bushing, and then a length of 1 ¼” PVC. For the cap I used a 4 inch rubber cap, and another piece of 4 inch PVC.

The rubber cap I cut in half so it wouldn’t be so big, and fit the tiny bit of 4 inch PVC inside of it, which fits inside the 4” reducer nicely. I had a piece of cable wire I used for a lanyard for the cap. I also attached a little cabinet pull I had extra from my garage cabinets. For the lanyard, you could just as easily use a piece of 550 cord, which was what I thought I would use until I found the wire in my junk box.

Below is the parts I used, and the finished product.

Installed my new Bushmaster 2.0 rear bumper last night, it looks great and installing it was pretty self explanatory.
