Thats what I did ass I lucked out and got a set of FSTs but did I need it right now no but had plans for more mods so set it up from the get-go. the fuel pump is good to have but even for light mods, the stock one is fine. I have a good amount so far and my fuel pump is still keeping up. When i drop below 2.8 the Fuel Pump is needed. Also depending on your truck there are other mods you want to consider but stock your good just use the injectors provided if they gave them.

Yes I completely agree, for our maggy unit a fuel pump is a solid thing to do. Especially once you start doing added mods.

yah I have my fuel pump but have not got around to it. based on Justin's feedback its still doing it thing and hanging on (FST injectors, cam gears, intake, 2.8 etc) but I plan to drop it down a bit so its coming at some point. hahaha

It’s a good safety to have. I did it early on. I have a 2.7 with the rootsy pulley mod to keep a stock sized belt. I’ll be getting my regear and cam gears done in about 3 weeks. Then I’ll hit Justin up to do some data logging and really get dialed in.

nice yah I'm on a stock-length RPM belt and 2.8 but with Rousch tensioner. sounds like you can easily go to a 2.7 with the same setup.

That’s one I should probably do too. Just don’t feel like replacing the little pulley on the roush.

replacing it is pretty easy. I did it with a Dremel and pipe cutter. You can also use the factory pulley which several people mentioned are working fine.

I do think of it often. I’d like to get a Tundra. If I did, I hypothetically could keep this too but I just don’t have the garage space unless I sold my Chevelle. You interested?

I just stumbled onto your build thread today. Dude, your truck is set up so sic! I'm looking at new wheels and tires for my 2013 now and I really like the stance yours has with that width and offset. What all did you have to do to clear the 285's on those wheels? Also, how do you like the 4.30 gears with the manual trans? I am debating between 4.10 and 4.30 with 33's and a 6 speed trans.

Thank you very much for the compliments. I haven’t seen you in some time. The wheels I have do give it the perfect stance in my opinion. My SCS wheels I had also had the same specs. 17x8.5, BS 4.30”, and -10 offset. They end up having just enough poke out past the fender and not too much.
With the standard Baja lift (Bilstien 6100’s) at 1.75 lift and a progressive aal in back at 1.5” it cleared just fine. I then added a 1/4” Toytec top plate onto the coil overs to raised it up to 2.25” which only helped out more. I’ve since changed my lift entirely and sit at about 2.75” in front and 2” in the rear.
As far as the gears go, I’d definitely do 4.30. Stay clear of 4.10. You absolutely won’t feel the difference. The 2 you should be debating on is 4.30 and 4.56. And between the 2 you should evaluate how much highway driving you do. The added torque of 4.56 would be sweet. However, I do just enough highway driving that the higher rpm’s of 4.56 would get old for me. 4.30 gave it just enough pep to be satisfying and not to high of rpm’s on the highway. Hope this helps.
Have you looked into a short shifter? That is a must have mod for the manuals as well.

Thanks for all that info! Yeah I last had an '06 I bought cheap and fixed up a bunch. Then when we went remote for work I was never driving it. So I sold and just drove our 4th gen 4unner. I finally decided to get another Tacoma and found a 2013 TX, Baja, Pro, whatever they call it, with the 4.0 of course and a 6spd. It has a few mods done to it already including 6112/5160 shocks, short shifter, and FN wheels. I'll attach a pic below. I'd like to get some 285's for it and was debating between 16's or 17's for wheels. The wheels it has now sit a little to flush IMO so I've looked into some different 17x8.5" wheels with the -10 offset. I just read that you ended up doing a CMC. Were you rubbing the body mount some or was that just to be sure to have enough clearance?

Here's a pic of mine. The 6112's are on the 4th clip with 650lb springs. I think its about 2-2.5" of lift with the bumper weight.

Thanks man. I did it because I really don’t get that much gain with the 2.7 and it was causing me issues with my tune and my afr’s along with having the URD tcai. I didn’t want to make the tune more aggressive to compensate for that cuz despite it being heavily modded, I’d rather keep it safe and reliable. As it is, I’ll be swapping out the URD tcai back to,the AFE pro dry s unit and have my tune adjusted accordingly. It’ll still be mighty peppy.
