This trips itinerary almost follows along with a trip I have been wanting take for years. Unfortunately July is booked solid for me. I wonder If I can squeeze this in November?...

I get the email updates for the drives and really should get on board. Just never works with my timeframe. Plus, I really need to drive my MR2 a little more often.

Looks like I have a few people that may just do the Poker Flats portion. We hit pavement on Sunday and Monday.

@MJonAgs32 we have a good group just doing the first few days. Are you jumping in the mix on the 18th? Or still on the fence for that?

Still on the fence about it. I'll be coming in from Chicago the night before and I can already predict the hangover I'll get from that trip haha

We'll see though. I'm also looking for a part time job this summer. I'll keep you posted.

Sounds like fun. Interested but can't confirm I can make it yet. Although if I could I'm pretty sure I can only make the first couple days. I can carry as much as 20 gallons of fuel (4 Scepter jerry cans), fully armored, winch, ton of tools, CO2, MV50, spare parts, and a bunch of other stuff. I also have CB and HAM. I'll keep an eye out on this thread. Thanks!

Just let me know when you know. I am pretty sure we will have a nice group for the first few days, and a small group so far for the rest.

Is this still happening? Moving to Nevada City at the end of this month and would be nice to get out and ride some new trails/meet some folks! I've got a '98 reg cab 33" tires open diffs. Also can I get a confirmation on dates if it is indeed happening?

Yes, and dates posted are solid. Open diffs are fine, we should have enough gear to get you around with those 33's if it gets a lil crazy.

Almost a month away. I have a lot of partial trip (first leg should be a party) a few full trip. Lots of maybes, only a few for sures.

I am going regardless if I am solo for 7 days or not [IMG]

Feel free to ask questions of route or gear and make requests if you need to borrow. I got my comms ironed out last weekend, so I will have a strong ham along with my already strong CB. I will have two solid loaner handhelds. If a item is stopping you from going, post up and will see if we have some extras (I seem to have two of almost everything).

You shouldn't have any problems with the main trail with your rides. I presume your going in on road 509? There is a point when I was using C. WELLS map/directions, you get to a point where it supposedly splits, it had 4 or 5 directions you could go. LOL.

1 brought you back to the split. 1 dead end. The third was the charm. Think this was 02 on the map.
The camp spot on the map, you could get about 4-5 vehicles in there, not much room to move around after that. I think there was a BBQ pit/stands there( don't hold me to that).Little creek running next to it.

Where the cemetery is listed, around the same area, on the right side of the road, there is a turn off with a water pond also. There is a fenced area with a cemetery in it. On the same turn off, on the right side, if you walk around, you will find some more graves also. Looks like some people have been coming in clearing and exposing them. This was about 2yrs ago. Me and the kids camped there for a night.

We never took any of the side road sites like you are going to do. We just did a day trip, sleep over. Lots to see on the main road for us.

I googled this area before we went and a lot popped up with other things to look for from other peoples adventures.

Do remember, this area will probable be in fire restrictions for this time period. They take this very serious around Downieville area, they don't even want you to smoke out of your vehicle in the woods there.

Who knows, I might just tag along for the weekend part.
