Sounds like if you come along I have less work to do for the first night ;)

My Gaia maps should have all the roads mapped properly, but I have not done enough work finding a suitable campsite for Saturday night yet, but should really start should we should have a good group. I kinda expected Tahoe NF to be a bit tight on fire by then, but am hoping Plumas is a bit more relaxed as they usually are. I have a mobile off the ground pit that can work for some restrictions and I may get a propane pit as those are usually the last to be restricted. I will call the week of for the fires though.

Still on the fence but itching to go. I think it'll be a last minute decision and one that would probably have me jumping on mid trip from 70 if I come. Will keep you updated.

Here we go again, have me barrel threw first to see if it safe for everyone else.
Propane will be the best bet, most areas declare, no designated fire ring, no fire, when in restrictions. This is why I hit up the Bowman area around that time period.

As far as that camp spot listed, it's at the beginning of all the site seeing stuff. I didn't want to back track just to camp. I made it to Howland Flat(so much to see by then) just pulled up camp at the cemetery. I think it was the Jeep road they list.

Awesome, that is a good chunk of the trip. I am going to start making Ranger calls next week to see if any changes to the route are needed.

Definite possibility for Mon-Wed. Would that be feasible to meet up with the group Mon morning and slip out Wednesday evening?

Going to get some work on the truck done.

We hit 70 on Monday around Noon, where 23N10 meets the 509 and 70. But I am pretty sure we will stop to eat lunch somewhere there on the Feather River and you two can meet us there. Wednesday we pop across 119/414 where you can break out and find your way back.

Ok, it is time to start prepping for this. Can everyone that is planning to go send me in PM your contact info, the dates you plan to travel and location you will be starting from.

Plan still stands, starting in the bay at 8am, Downieville at Noon. One trailer puller will be leaving a bit earlier that me from the bay to meet us up at Downieville around the same time. Once I have all the departure locations, I will put together some gathering points.

Yep. Looks like we cross the water and onto sloat road, but it looks like there are some trails down by the way right before crossing that may be a nice spot for lunch. I would be surprised if we had service, will you have ham?

Unfortunately no HAM; only CB and FRS. Me and @SeekingZero will plan to be in that area around noon on Monday and either try and reach through FRS or CB, or just look for you guys. We'll be coming up 89 from Truckee to get to 70

Sub'd! Looks awesome! Was up in Lassen area weeks ago.

I'm thinking of making this so throwing that out there. Great itinerary!

There is room for a last minute decision. So just send me a PM if you decide to hop on for all or part.

Yeah I second this. I roll with two BF-F9V2's as loaners, they are what got me into taking the test and putting a mobile unit in and getting a real handheld. The $30 5R with a Nagoya Antenna upgrade is a real popular radio for a lot of licensed hams, and really clear on the trail. But I have a mobile CB installed also.
