Ah, I was thinking.maybe doing lassen in its entirety and then maybe plumas.

Not sure, and this will be my first "overlanding " trip. I haven't quite figured out California, back in WV or AK I could pretty much just camp anywhere, for free with no reservations lol

If you do California National Forests right, you shouldn't need to reserve or pay for anything.

I started exploring at Highway 120, so I have been kinda doing S->N, why I chose Plumas before Lassen. That and the Poker Flats starts looked like a fun way to kick it off.

I want to make it to through Mondoc this year, that way I can go from Oregon to Utah next year.

I, honestly, haven't look at many maps or even remotely started planning... But since I live in the Bay area, I figured I'd go up to Lassen, and then maybe hit Plumas after, maybe I'm doing it backwards haha. I haven't decided... I hate trip planning lol!

I can order another one tonight and give it to you on the trip. I ordered one early Sunday morning and it will be arriving Wednesday. If I order now, it should get here Friday.
Or you can borrow mine- I have to bail out of the trip Tuesday morning.

That's awfully nice of you, but I think I'll be fine. I can order one now too, but I have no idea how to use it and I'd probably want to orient myself with the whole set up before I use it.

Dammnit. I might just go ahead and buy it lol. I'll see how I feel in the morning haha

Take some pictures! I'm driving up to the Lassen area through Tahoe down from San Diego with my girlfriend in early August. Let me know what trails you guys find challenging/fun!

So the HAM radio I ordered doesnt come in until Monday, but @Baoser was nice enough to let me borrow his. Hopefully that makes finding you guys on Monday a little easier, although I'm not too worried about it.

Hey guys, I'm going to stock the truck and fridge tomorrow. What are some good suggestions for foodstuffs...do you guys grill each night, bring meat/burgers/etc? Keep in mind, I don't have a grill. Also, does anyone mountain bike...I'm thinking about throwing the bike on the roof but if no one else bikes or if we won't have time, I won't bother.

@MJonaGS32, what time do you want to roll out Monday morning?
