July 2021 Tacoma Sales

I agree that prices are crazy right now (both used and new which many people have mentioned) but this isn't a new thing for Taco's. Back in 2008 a friend of mine wanted to buy a new Taco. He went around to several local dealers in So.Cal. and was finding much the same thing as we're seeing now; used (a year or two with 10K-30K miles give or take) were selling for more than they had when they were new. Back then I remember he and I talking about how there's no way that trend could last...

Both of those are easy to solve problems though I don't think the electric trucks will be stealing a large market share from Tacomas simply because of the cost. The Rivian base model is $30k more than I paid for my Tacoma and the R1T I configured how I would want it is almost $80k. However, the R1T has a longer range than the Tacoma, close to 600hp more, no lack of torque, can tow far heavier loads, better suspension, etc.. It's a lot of truck for the money if you can work around recharging stations on longer drives.
