    Hello all,
This afternoon I drove my 2016 Tacoma v6 4x4 to rub some errands came home and started my truck after 30 minutes of letting it sit and my idle was acting jumpy. I've had my truck since October 2015 and no real issue besides weeping diff. I revved the engine and it went back to normal no issues since but it concerns me a bit just wanted to see what your guys thoughts were. I posted a video of the idle jumping up and down.

My truck does the same thing at idle. Not nearly that fast but it definitely jumps. Turn off the AC and see if it happens.

Mine is related to the AC compressor kicking on I believe and as you would expect "characteristic of the vehicle".

Not gonna trade it in. Please be helpful before dropping your 2 cents. Have had this truck for 1.5 years with no issues. I hardly come here to complain about my truck like others have. Not here to rag on my truck and say it's a turd just looking for help. Not trying to be dick but don't have time for this. Don't take it personal.

My A/C was off but I do know what your talking about because my engine revs to but not as abnormal as this. Foot was off the brake and as you could see from the vid lights were off until I turned on the parking lights so I could get a better video.

I'd keep it and raise hell to get it fixed but that's just me. If you trade it back in, Toyota and whomever takes it on trade will be the real winners.

They don't apologize when they come over the border to buy clothes, leave the tags and boxes laying in the parking lots because they wear the crap they bought back across the border so they don't have to pay the tax. Nore when they are doing 45 in a 60 holding up traffic, or cutting you off to make a quick exit at the last second....

Damn, let us know who they are and I'm sure our Prime Minister will give them a good talking to:eek::eek:... That kinda shit is not the Cdn way..!!:facepalm:Remember John Candy when he invaded Canada in "Canadian Bacon".?... He was really impressed how clean our country was.

But you should be aware that "doing 45 in a 60"....It shows as "96.56" on their Speedo.... They may think they are speeding and the crazy "Yanks" are still passing them. They may also be drunk on your real cheep booze.....!!:thumbsup:

First there needs to be a problem. Who's to say it isn't operating as designed? The engine ecu isn't gonna ask for permission to do what it needs to do lol. There are engine control functions that happen to perform self checks and such.

Many things can cause a load which will influence your RPM AT rest. For example, your air conditioner was off but that does not mean your A.C. compressor is off. It cycles on and off all the time, in defrost mode is one. Also any electrical load like headlights, subwoofer, amp, heater or anything else that has a current draw will cause RPM fluctuation. If that cycle you recorded becomes the norm, not the exception, i would take it to dealer and gave your charging system checked. Battery, alternator, etc. Good luck.

I'd say its likely something putting a load on the engine like AC
I know mine surges like that if i just move the steering wheel side to side when idling.

Lol lots of them too. Drives me insane when people drive like morons. But they probably think I'm one because I look like Jeff Gordon getting around them all so I can cruise.
