Hey guys been fighting trying to find a problem that’s been going on with my truck for some time now. Im at the point of getting someone to look at it. Transmission fluid done 50k ago about to have done again. Have no problem shifting gears but from dead stop to take off I get a jumpy/shake in maybe rear end of truck..? Also will do it when letting off of gas pedal then applying again. Been super frustrating trying to find this problem. TIA any insight would be great.

You don't say so anywhere, but I'm guessing you have a manual transmission.

How many miles are on it? How many of those miles are yours vs. previous owner?

It sounds to me like the clutch is slipping. Clutches are wear parts, and need occasional replacement.

I highly recommend the OEM Aisin clutch for nearly everyone. I just had my clutch replaced with a performance twin disc unit and it's a bit if a pain in the ass for daily driving. I like puzzles, so having to relearn how to drive my own truck is kinda fun - but not always.

Have you checked the universal joints.

Do you feel it in the seat, it sounds like you do. Have you checked the Universal Joints and Center bearing well known for causing a vibration in the seat or body of the truck?

In addition to what some guys have already said.. . Is the drive line greased?

I would also suggest changing out your rear differential oil with some nice Lucas or similar. Reason I say that is 10+ years ago I had a 05 Tundra V8 4WD. Same trans as the 2nd Gen and likely similar diff. I had a really annoying clunk or thud right when I got going, it happened every time. . . I was doing fluid changes over a few weekends and one day did the rear diff and nothing else. What do you know, the issue cleared up and never happened again in the time I owned that truck and it drove perfectly.
