ill have to keep searching for one. Total Auto Pros wanted to make a custom one but im on the fence about it. powder coated with die cuts in it for strength.

You could always inject steroids into your "cardboard" stock skid plate...that should make it strong :p

If I wasn't so damn lazy I would put mine back on. Just for the psychological effect of knowing it's there.

The stock skid is better than no skid. I abused the hell out of the stocker too before and... honestly it did better than I figured it would. I wouldn't run Box Canyon or something with it though but the dirt out at Butcher Jones it's ok for the most part

Guess it's about high time I head back out to the garage and finish up some little things on the truck. Door speakers, skid plate, headlight alignment, seat the switch to my procomps, and other fart around things. If anyone's board and has nothing to do, shoot me a pm.

Which one is the "hard hill"? I would consider it the last creek crossing with the giant boulder right in the middle of the road right before the rest of the trail levels out and gets up into the trees. That one was the only real bitch for me, the rest was fun. I gouged a rim on that bitch but got out of it ok.

Adam a FJ did the same thing when he passed us when we were taking a break at that point. i got lucky(maybe even skill) and came out good on that one. Cousin with his sick Jeep Rubicon was even a lil impressed. so i know EXACTLY where ur talking. the photo of my profile pic was actually a few miles back off to the left in some pullout areas(camping) we did some messing around.

No worries man. There will be more runs. Hopefully I get more than just this one in before it's time for me to go back to Ft. Irwin.

I was attached to the 11th ACR back in the day (1998-2003).

I was part of the 1/180th Field Artillery out of Arizona.

I did it in 4hi and not aired down at all, and there were some deep pits washed out so I was having a tough time getting a good bite without hitting bottom. The other taco I was with busted one of his rear stock billies on one of the rocks but I never hit bottom. That was also at a time when I wasn't sure what my taco was capable of, and I didn't trust that damn spacer lift. Learned a bunch since then

Probably was a better life than being in the Ordnance Corps. They treat us mekanicks like crap. I'm in 557th Maintenance Co, 1916th CSB

That sucks. Our mechanics were treated pretty good..you guys did a change of mission and are no longer the nation od Krasnovia or Mohavia...no more Russian Tactics against BLUFOR. I guess you guys are now using Taliban an Al Quiada tactics. I miss the battles we had out there in the Box. The early morning rush into "battle"...miss those days.

Yup. Funny thing is that they are still using the DCU's.
