Not exactly as you may think the title means...however, I may have asked this question once before but I do not think I got a response So I'll try again if nobody minds.
I hate the stock leaf springs toyota designed. I have noticed that Ford and others use thicker leafs and they dont seem to have any of the sagging issues. The first leaf holds the trucks weight empty and uses the second when a load is placed on it then the OL if needed. The only other truck I owned that sagged so much was a 89 bronco II and it had thin leafs as well.
Has anyone heard or know of a truck out there with thick leafs that would fit the Tacoma?
It was common for the Bronco guys to pull leafs from different trucks even Chevys and mod them to fit the Broncos with lots of success. They even added a couple of leafs by cutting each leaf shorter to firm up a spring.
I don't have the money to buy new aftermarket leaf packs. Going to school and all. The AAL work fine but squeak and moan too much and they don't even seat right with the other leafs.
To a point I mentioned earlier. I am willing to add 2 or so leafs from another pack. I think this may firm them up a bit and will cost no where near $400!
Also might the 3 leaf AAL from wheelers be a good alternative?
