So yesterday I had my truck parked under a shade tree through most of the day. When I went out to put it back in the driveway I saw that the fricken birds had a field day all over my hood. When they say you should remove bird shit right away or asap it's the truth. After spending nearly 30 minutes using various products I was able to remove the crap. Unfortunately the toxic bird shit affected the clear coat and I now have three distinct spots on my otherwise beautiful MGM truck. This morning I went to our local popular detail shop and was told that the only way to correct the blemishes is to have it wet sanded and of course he said we don't Do that here. Not only does this piss me off that such a common, unavoidable occurrence can have such an effect on a brand new vehicle, not to mention I had this thing protected with the so called dealer protection process. So the moral of the story is clean the shit up quickly and don't let the dealer sell you their " bullet proof paint protection" because it ain't worth a shit...excuse the pun.

Only solution is to get the truck on some trails and make those blemishes the least of your worries :mudding:

Yikes. Wet sanding seems like a heck of a leap. I'd try a dual action polisher, but even that isn't fun. Sorry to hear this.

Any warranty with this "bullet proof paint protection"? That may cover bird crap....?

    Sorry about the bird crap.

I think I would take it to the dealer and ask them about their paint protection. If they don't cover this, I would demand a100% refund. You might try clay bar, thattakes a lot of crap off of your paint, pun intended.

The paint protection you bought should come with a warranty against this type of damage. Go back to the dealership and demand that they get this fixed ASAP!

Same thing happened to me. Bird shit wasn't there for more than 8 hours, but stained the paint. Very low quality shit toyota is using. Compound, Polish, and wax helped a lot, but did not get it all.

The Toyota Premier Paint Protection program (dealer add-on) that came with my Tacoma specifically states that it protects against bird droppings. If that's the protection that came with your truck take it to the dealer to get it fixed.

Scratch & swirl remover + elbow grease will work. I also have a black 4Runner and know all to well about bird crap etching the clear coat. I've always been able to fix it with scratch & swirl remover!
