So DavidK and I went up to Drug Airport. I thought it would be a fairly easy 4x4 trail until the hill climb...well here are some pics.

Great to meet you Brian... and too bad we couldn't both get beyond the first wash-out grade! It was sure a great day today, none-the-less!

Thats my philosophy Brian exactly, follow your gut !!

Theres trails I've been up several times before & in worse conditions

start up that same trail on a perfect day & mid way thru stop in my tracks (pj peak) & bail on it because something just didn't feel right about it, good call in my book !!;)

Apparently the ruts were much deeper than before and the rocks that lined the rut well I didn't think with my lsd I could have made up without a little carnage.

My apologies to David K for not continuing on the trail. :sorry:

I'm thinking of going back and trying to do a little work on that rut to make it a little more manageable.

It was fun, and I am only sorry that the rut was much bigger than before with new boulders in it! No need to apologize Brian... at least you got to hop in for a ride in my truck for a bit.

As it was I drove up it with the passenger tires on the boulders, and the driver tires on the left edge... that went well... using A-TRAC, naturally! On the return down, to bring Brian back to his Taco, the weight of the Tacoma was enough to force the boulders from their placement and the result was some deep scratches in the lower part of the side panel and the wheel. It's an OFF ROAD TRUCK, so that is fine... part of the results of having fun and USING your four wheel drive!

Now, let's all find some jobs so we can get back to more four wheeling!

I like that in the second group, you got me 'adjusting' my rear bumper... damaged on the Mision Santa Maria run almost a year ago (with HBMURPHY and Baja Nomad friends)... LOL

Yah, no kidding... Brian (Soundman) has the sliders, but I had the A-TRAC that could drive the truck over the boulders... LOL! I could have used the sliders yesterday!

David you should take your bumper cover off and try to "straighten" it up a bit!

Seriously LOL! Maybe a David K bumper mod party... ?

I was in hopes the economy would get back to pre-(Senator) Obama vigor and I could buy an Armor-Tech or similar bumper... I am waiting!
