It’s been a long road but the Taco is finally back and I’m just happy to have it back. Body shop was awesome. Did a great job with body lines and paint matching/blending. Insurance tried to total it out, fought them on that, they drug the whole process out and made me fight for every penny. Apparently they haven’t seen the truck market lately as they valued it at $5500 originally. In the end it’s fixed with all OEM Toyota parts minus the side marker/parking light as it’s discontinued. Hope to get back to doing some mods now it’s back. In the mean time I picked up a 4runner I found with 45k miles, love both these vehicles.

That has to be my favorite color and year range of all the Tacoma's. Looks great! I pulled the purple and green decals off my 95 SR5 20 years ago and regret it. Looking at getting mine painted and putting those back on.

Thank you and everyone for the compliments! If you ever decide to get new decals, they discontinued mine obviously being so old but this guy makes some for the aftermarket and they look pretty damn good. I had to use his before, they aren't a direct match to OEM but, if you're starting from scratch then no one would notice. https://www.jamesdeancreations.com/toyota.htm

Hey Kyle, I know its been a while since this thread has been active but im shooting my shot. Ive been reading up on some of the conversations on the old man emu thread and ive got some questions for you as we have the same year and spec truck. Question 1: Are you still using the old man emu suspension in these photos? what I last read is that you have the 3rd leaf from the top removed on the cs019R pack. Question 2: what size tires are you running? any problems with tires rubbing on stock UCA, jba uca, frame or fender liner?

I have a set of new cs019r leafs sitting as i piece together the rest of the lift. thinking about going with OME 882 to go with my bilstein 5100's already installed. want to avoid the rear being 4"+ over stock height. Looking for a solid 2.5"-3" of lift over stock front and rear.

Only reason i havent bought the 882s is beacuse im debating if that will be to tall if i remove a leaf in the rear.

Beautiful truck by the way! and thanks in advance for any advice you can give!

also you may have already stated this in another thread but would you mind copying any before and after measurements you can find from the lift?!

Happy for you, you have the best color truck IMO. Glad you saved it.

Was going to send you a PM but will reply here incase others find the info useful. I still have the same setup today that is in the photo here in this thread. I started a thread a while back with basically the same issue, a ton of rake in the rear with just the standard CS019 leaf pack with no extra leafs added.https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-much-lift-which-leafs-can-i-take-out.678282/.

What I ended doing with that pack was removing only the third from the top, it helped but even then, it still rode pretty shitty. If you want to maintain about 3/4 to 1" rake then that's a good stack up. I later ended up taking the first overload, 4th leaf from the top. So i took out leaf 3 and 4 from the top. Now it sits perfectly level and even when I load it up it holds shape. I would avoid using that leaf pack as it's sent out all together, that's my opinion..

I'm not gonna lie these leaf packs suck compared to the options for any truck past 1997. The flexibility in options, and ability to change the stack up which have usually more than just 3 leafs is nice, who needs 3 overloads? Seems overkill.

I only went with the 881s up front and I'm glad I did, it gave me what I wanted up front and with the diff drop it doesn't cause much issue with the CV angles. I have a steel skid plate from RCI but that's all. I'm running 265/75-16 with 3rd gen 4runner rims I had powder coated. The 16" give you a much wider range of tire selections and it's IMO the right size for this truck. I don't rub anywhere at any time. I think this is due to the 4runner wheels basically having basically the same measurements (Backspacing, offset) as the stock wheels.

I don't have any measurements off hand I deleted my notes but I think It was roughly 2" up front and not sure on back I have changed it a lot. In the end, I just wanted to add a lifted aesthetic to the truck, not deal with extreme CV angles, pinch weld mods, etc. hence my decisions on the parts used. Hope this helps, little long winded but any info is good for the forum! This is how it sits now

Thank you for your extended explanation. Ive already got the leaf pack so im pretty determined to make it work. After hearing your experience im thinking i also dont want to deal with the can of worms with a larger lift. going to find some 881's to run with my 5100s. what size diff drop did you get?

I just ordered through wheelers since that’s where I got all my parts. This is the one I bought

Looks great. Did you have to replace the front fenders? I need one and can't find a O&M.

Yes I did. The body shop was able to source a new one OEM. Every part used (Front fender, fender chrome trim, entire grill, chrome bumper, plastic lower bumper, and lower turn signal) was all OEM which was nice. The only thing we couldn't find was the marker light next to the headlight.
