Hello everyone. I live in Texas and bought my first Tacoma 4 years ago. I basically just used it as a reliable truck and never gave it much thought. I get a lot of compliments on the truck though it’s not the shining beauty it was when I got it. She’s taken a ding to almost every part of her by now and she’s not so shiny anymore. I recently scored an ARE camper shell for free.99. If you can believe that?! I’d been looking for over a year and simply couldn’t find anything that wasn’t cost prohibitive. I’ve become well aware that tacomas have a strong fan base- but lord the aftermarket market is about as proud if not more so than ford is if their stuff. Anyway, I’ll be prowling around and trying to find some good stuff I can afford to do to show the old truck some love. I’m currently trying to find a roof rack system that doesn’t cost more than I could spend on a cap. I have a Thule rack system on top of the cab with a basket that covers the cab. Btw. I drive a 2010 TRD sport 4x4. It packaged out pretty nicely from the factory. Only thing I did was have a leveling kit installed when I bought it because it was just too damn low. Looking back wish I had gone a bit bigger with the lift. Anyway- I think I already rambled on too long. Take care.

Welcome and nice find on the topper! Hope you can find the parts you’re looking for! Just don’t get caught up in all the unnecessary mods around here! Haha

Thanks. I’ve already done the throw every paycheck into a monster truck when I was younger( and now I’m not!). But I would like to make the truck more capable and install what creature comforts I can. I’ve been playing with the idea of putting a slide in camper on a truck for 20 years and I think that’s becoming a real option with my current situation. But just like the camper shell- a slide in camper that doesn’t cost more than the truck did is elusive.

See if you can find a used 4wheel camper being sold that’ll fit!
