I just bought an 05 trd with 96,000 miles. What should I be doing as far as complete maintenance, and inspections.
    Thanks

Check/change all fluids. Inspect suspension parts, cv boots, brakes, air filters etc. Pretty straight forward, these trucks are built to last.

    ^^^What he said.

I own an 05 with 90K miles on it and I haven't had to do anything major to it. I bought it used in 09 with 45K on it and I use it as a daily driver, hunting truck, and towing a camper trailer in the summer. It's been the best vehicle I have ever owned.

Make sure the 90K service was complete; oil change along with plugs and some other stuff.

I did change out the tranny fluid at 75K, even though it's supposed to be "lifetime". I tow a camper trailer and wasn't going to let that go.

I did the original OEM brakes at 75K as well, but probably could have eeked another 10K of the fronts.

How old is the suspension? That might be something worth replacing if it's original. I had mine done (TSB) at 45K and haven't had any issues.

The only thing that might need some attention in the near future is a very small oil leak out of the passenger side valve cover...barely worth worrying about.

What did you pay for it by the way? Private sale or dealership? Photos?

Edit: Where did (do) you serve squiddy?

Is it an '05 or an '07? You have both as a description.

Thanks for the replies. It is an 05 model. The weather here is nasty now, ice and snow, but as soon as it clears up I will be changing all of the fluids and filters. Still researching on the tranny fluid thing. So many opinions. Dealer wants $300 to change it, I just want to leave nothing to chance. This will be my everyday driver, and I will hunt out of it also, just a little mud and offroad at the deer camp, so I'm thinking about a mild lift and slightly larger tires, so could use some advice on those mods as well.

I just bought an 09 DC TRD in December, dealer "said" they complete all the services, front diff was NASTY! I changed all gear oil using Royal Purple (because everyone seems to swear by it), reason I did was 1. had 133K and 2. because they said they did all the services and when I decided to check the plugs cylinder 3 boot was not only loose but "ajar" as well and the plug looked like it sat in water for a year! So yea I'd change them too. about to flush power steering because its black and as far as I know it should be clearish yellow. will be doing brake fluid too just because I can. congrats on the truck. I love being back in a Tacoma, don't really care what some say, its my dream truck.
