Not only did you buy it from afar, but you bought a color you don't like...

It sounds like it will all work out for you. I bought a '99 4Runner on eBay without being able to see it. I had a buddy drive it to the local Toyota dealership and they inspected it for me so that helped.

Glad you're getting it from a dealership, that will protect you more than anything.

Can't wait to hear how it all goes - good luck!

I bought a 2004 Tacoma DC on ebay sight unseen for $2000 below KBB. It had about 20K on it, was in perfect condition. Flew down to Vegas to pick it up, drove it back home, and sold it to the guy who lost the ebay auction for $2500 more than I paid for it (he lived in Portland). I took the money and ran -- to buy a new 2006, which is my current truck.

In the pictures, it has the 16 inch wheels. he may have a set of 18's in the back? Not sure, but its def 16's in the pic.

PS....buying from a dealership, I think you would be ok... Good Luck.

Those are definitely the 16" alloys but I think he was more concerned with what is pictured, being different than what he would find when he got there.

Good luck on the purchase there's a few Colorado members around here some where see if you can have them meet up with you or even go to the dealership and look it over. A while back a friend of mine bought a vehicle off Ebay that was in my area I went out and looked it over. I'm sure there's guys on here that would look it over and give you a second opinion. We know our vehicles better than most people do that's one of the great things about TW. We drive them every day, some of use tear them apart and build something that should be in shows. You came to the right place for it all.

Good looking truck and great deal if you take delivery in good shape. I'm sure eBay rep points/feedback would clue you in to a scammer...I used Carmax for mine, but had the opportunity to reject the truck after having it transferred (minus the transfer fee).

    Anyway, congrats (hopefully)!

My concern would be it being from New Orleans and it being a 2006, which means it could have been in the wrong place at the right time back on Sept 18th, 2008.......a little thing called Ike blew thru and flooded the whole area. Sure you heard about it. Did your dude check all under seats and stuff and what did it smell like? Just hope it's all good and it was in the right place at the right time on Sept 18th,2008.

Awe fuck, read it upside down. Yeah, guessin he did hear about Ike since he lives there. I musta been following the path laid out in the 1st post where it started crossing the rockies and ending up LA, lol. Still, hope purchase is all good:D

An ARE camper shell, a 1000w power inverter.

I'll post as soon as I pick it up. I couldn't believe it was a no-reserve auction. They have it listed on their website for $14,599. So I think I got a deal.

    I hope so.

Like I said, I just wanted a reliable truck I could work out of. I know someone with an old Toyota truck (like the one in Back to the future) with over 600,000 miles on it. He changed the clutch twice, but still original motor. I know a girl with a Camry who went almost three years without changing her oil, and it still ran great. Hell the engine didn't even look bad from the old oil. Toyota makes a good product.

I'm so much happier than I would be in a Ranger, Colorado or Frontier.

I just had my other truck for so long, its going to be hard letting go of her. I rebuilt the motor and the trans, and the rear end. I did so much to it, and I know I won't get much for it (2000 Ram Quad Cab).

Does the stock CD player play Data/MP3 Cds?

Where are the outlets for the power inverter?

How does the V-6 feel power-wise? My truck had a 318 when I bought it, and I put a 360 in for more power. I never Dyno'd it. But the 2006 V-6 Tacoma has more HP(less torque) than my Ram did stock.

Plus a lot lighter, so it seems like it may be peppy. Its weird buying a car without driving it. Don't know how its going to feel until it's mine.

Not a deal breaker. Plus I grew out of my big rims stage. They're cheaper now, but still over-sized rims make for expensive tires.

But they mention 18"s a few times in the listing.

    Then to really confuse me
Like that it has an LSD rear... I need to see what the ratio is. Though putting 4.10s in my other truck was a hug mistake. I went down to 3.93 afterward.

I'm just like how you don't have 60% of the forum dedicated to talking about common recurring problems with these trucks.

With the Ram 90% of all transmissions go out before 130,000 miles. Everyones dash caved in. It was all about how to mod your truck to fix factory mistakes. Its just funny, cause I'm searching for tips (and getting them) but this is a solid indicator that this is a solid truck.

Being someone who works on cars all the time (as a hobby, for friends, etc) the only thing I'm unsure of is the VVT-i technology. I am familiar with V-Tec having had Honda's and an Acura. Just something new I have to learn. I don't think I will be replacing engine internals any time soon. As I want MPG more than power. My last truck gas prices still started with a $1 when I began my mods...

    My Must haves...
    Custom Sub box.
Touch screen compatible with Linux Ubuntu, or Android
    115v power in cab
    Window Tint (legal)
    amplified component speakers
    Satellite Radio

I saw one the other night (four door model all black) with HID lights in the fogs and heads, and thought that looked cool.

After a while I'm sure I'll find something else to do to it.
