    Hello All
I just bought a 2014 Tacoma was it a good choice ?I did own a 1988 Toyota truck for years but the rust was so bad I had to get rid of it. But Toyota's engines run for ever. Did Toyota fix the rust issues? How's the gas mileage now a days with the Tacoma's.

Some people with trucks in the 2005-2008 range are starting to see rust issues. If you coat it with some sort of preventative you *should* be fine.

My mpg is around 16 city, 19-20 highway depending on the speed I am driving. And that is for a double cab v6 4x4.
Your mileage will vary with the different mods you do!

And lastly congrats on the truck and welcome to tw! Get a pic up when you can!

Welcome and congrats. They are very nice trucks, that's why we're all here. In the summer (no 4x4 and less idling) I get 19.1mpg. Not bad for a big ol' 4.0.

    Do dents and scratches count?
Just bought a 2014 as well. I am also new to Tacoma. So far I ad getting 16-17mpg. Just crossed over a thousand miles. Hoping for a increase when things get broken in. I am pretty happy with it though. I have had some better equipped domestic full size trucks. But, for what it is, I am pleased.

I get about 20mpg. All depends on how heavy your foot is. Back in the day, I would have been getting 16-18.
Some still have rust issues but I think that has to do with where you live. Up in PA, I think a lot of old vehicles have issues with the salt during the winter.

Do you think you made a good choice? I like mine and figure you will enjoy yours too. Congrats on the purchase and enjoy it.

I average 18.5mpg on my DCSB 4x4 V6 Auto no matter what I do. I see no practical difference between 87 and 93 Octane, and the truck cover changed nothing. 5800 miles.
