So, yesterday I bought this to replace my stock radio/cd/cassette deck for my 2001

Go to the very bottom of this post for a one-sentence summary of my question. If you want the long version of my question, read on. Thanks guys!

I got this one b/c it's the cheapest one with the highest reviews that connects to my iPhone via USB port...didn't feel like getting the Bluetooth adapter.

I also got the plastic surround mount and the wiring harness for my 2001.

Anyway, I plan on doing a write-up with pics on this b/c I haven't found any good write-ups on here. I think Yotatech or CustomTaco's has a semi-good one, but it didn't have pics and was kinda sloppy-sounding. I've replaced the deck in my 1996 Blazer from high school, but that was about 8 years ago and I didn't care for that POS like I do my Tacoma lol...so, I just wanna make sure I do it right, especially if I'm going to make a how-to on it.

Is it just as simple as removing the A/C knobs and popping of the plastic surround or does the whole dash need to come off? Doing either is no big deal, but I just want to know what to expect before I start tackling this. Once I get to the exposed deck, I can handle removal and attaching the wiring harness...I hope

Moral of the story is, if anyone has done this to a 1st gen, more specifically, a 2001, I'd appreciate any advice.

EDIT: If there is a good write-up for the 2001 and I just missed it, please post the link on here. Thanks
