    Hello,

I recently purchased my first new car , a 2010 Tacoma :). I have a couple quick questions though, and I figured I'd come to the experts. Before I ask them, I would like to clarify, that I did do some research, but would like firm answers before I spend a few thousand more dollars. First off, here is a pic of the new truck:

I am looking at the BMF M-80 rims
    http://www.bmfwheels.com/m80.html

I was wondering if the stock tires will still work on those or if I will need to purchase new tires as well? Will those rims work alright as they are or do I need to do any modifying to my truck.

I'm also looking at getting a Kenwood DNX6140 in-dash Navigation/DVD player. I went to Best Buy today and they said they didnt carry the dash converter kit and to try to find one on-line and they would install it. I went to Crutchfield and they have the receiver and it appears that everything I need to include wire harness and dash converter comes with it. Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

    Chris

Congrat! I believe your stock tire will fix new rims. I believe your stock tires won't last longer and many owner replaced to different tires. Some keep same stock tires.
I don't know about you dvd player question. I keep my JBL system alone.

Thanks for the compliments and welcomes. Definitely nice to be a part of this community after reading these forums for the last 6 months waiting to get my truck.

Does anyone else have any other feedback as far as the Rims/Kenwood go?

first off welcome to tw! congrats on the sweet truck and thanks for your service to our country! As far as the wheels go the site doesnt give the offset, backspacing, hub bore or lug pattern? so i cant say for sure if they will fit. if u can find some mor info on the wheel i can try and help u more! now with that head unit, crutchfield usually sells there receivers with everything needed for the install. buut they are usually a little more expensive than some other places on the web. if u just need the dash kit try going to WWW.SCOSCHE.COM to find a dash kit for double and single din h/u's! hope that helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for the info, did a google search for M-80 and found this (didnt catch it before):

"BMF Wheels will be releasing a brand new design and fitment for the lifted and leveled truck market at the 2009 SEMA show in Las Vegas, NV, November 3 - November 6. The new offering will be a 24x10.5 named the "M-80". It features a seven inch rim lip, TMPS sensor compatibility, 4.75 inch backspacing and our patent pending machining process in "Death Metal" black finish. The 24x10.5 is marketed toward the lifted truck enthusiast that demands the best and most unique wheels on the road today. The M-80 is available in 17x9 and 20x9 fitments as well."

I would imagine that the backspacing for the 17x9 would be 4.75 as well, but I am not really familiar everything yet, so I could be wrong.

Would this info help you with my question?

I have a 4.5 backspacing on my wheels and they barely clear by maybe a quarter inch, so u may have to run a spacer in order to use that wheel with that backspacing

Correction i think my wheels are 5.4 backspacing

You can't beat Crutchfield for customer service and installation support. I recently bought a complete new system from them and everything was included. Pay attention to their Installation notes. I called tech support several times during my installation, they were very helpful and worked through all issues.
