Hey guys new to the forum. just picked up a 2010 regular cab 4x4 5 speed tacoma. bought it from carmax for 17,500 with 33k on the clock. got a smoking deal as far as im concerned.
cant wait to start modding it. my first tacoma was a 99 5 lugger and i absolutely loved it. needed something with 4x4 so i bought a ford ranger. it was a decent truck but a total gas hog and always killed front ball joints and wheel bearings.

    future mods:
    scs sr8 wheels 17x8.5
    toyo rt 285 70 17
3" coilover lift, not sure which one yet
    urd short shifter

id like to do a 2012 front end conversion but still have to do some research on it

Congrats! That 2012 front end swap is no joke though. Do a search on the forum. (At least) one person has already done one and documented the changeover as well as price lists. It wasn't cheap.

ill def be hitting that search button. from the looks of it, it wont be a hard swap. I have already sourced out the bumper and the brackets. im going with an aftermarket grill and oem style black out headlights. I should be able to do the swap for about a grand plus paint which i can do myself.

flynbyu2: im out in roseville. any yota clubs around here?

Not really any "CLUBS" per se, but there are a couple groups that meet up at Prairie City OHVP on occasion. There's also a group...might be the same group honestly, that has a "mod day" where everyone brings tools, food and their personal expertise on adding one thing or another to their ride. That second group really sparked my interest but sadly my Tacoma was just totaled 6 weeks ago. I'm waiting for the 2016's before I replace it.

    See you around town!
