Let me just start off by saying, wow, this is everything you need. From crawl control, to heated seats, and visibility to pitch and roll. It's like nothing I've ever had in my 24 years here on earth. Hope it sees many more miles.

My dad says it was a poor choice to get this truck during this period of weird economics. What do y'all think? Worth 28k?

The cab is spacious, and the bed has plenty of room for whatever I will need to haul up here in Milwaukee, WI. There is one qualm with it however...

The damn rust on these 3rd gens, I've seen threads here talking about using Waxoyl and spraying that under the frame and whatnot. Is this how I should proceed?

Aside from this, the truck is very capable, and gets up to speed as well as you need it to.

Hope to be more active in this community20230213_180544.jpg

It doesn’t matter if people think it’s a good deal. If you are happy that’s what matters. Enjoy the truck and congrats!

welcome, you have a nice newish truck, you are doing well!
74k is nothing for these trucks and don't worry about the prices, there is not a damn thing you can do about it!

    2017 TRD/OR for $28K and 74K miles?

I think you did well for your first vehicle purchase...it's your decision, your responsibility...you're paying for it!

The way you feel...how the truck makes you feel is worth the price of admission.

I also have a Midnight Black Tacoma...and it was my first purchase of a new truck.

One transaction is all it takes...I stole that from Dua Lipa.

If you have heated seats, that means your truck has the Premium Technology Package (see page 12 of the PDF below). On my Sport in 2016, that was a $1480 option. Here is a great PDF on the 2016 which helped me when I was shopping. I think the only change in 2017 was the Pro was added to the lineup. Welcome to TW.

I bought my dream truck right after I turned 30. Well, and I bought this guy for my 30th.:)

    Snap!!

I got mine a few months before I hit 30.

Last few gweetars I’ve gotten were from here and CL gutted And put all new guts in with EMG’s. Was just wanting some project fiddles, but that is sweet!

Congrats on the truck. Doesn't sound like a bad deal, although I cringe at spending nearly $30k on a used vehicle 3/4s of the way to 100k.
But the used car market has gone through the roof & I'm the next guy in line to tell you how much a draft beer was when I was just a whipper snapper.

Enjoy the ride! One thing about these trucks... they're a lot of fun across generations.

    Thanks!

Yeah, guitars are a lot of fun. I wish I was born in the 70s to see all these awesome bands we had:devil:

Well, some of them still exist but it’s not the same.
