I would have to say Nitto Terra Grapplers. They are an A/T tire and arent as pricey as other name brand tires and everyone on here that runs them swears by them. I dont have them personally but I know a lot of people that do.

I Freakin loved my Terra Grapplers, they wore great put 36,000 miles on them and barely showed signs of wear. they rode great nice and soft feeling. they performed great in the sand and on snowy/icey roads. they were quiet. and they look pretty mean for an AT.

I love my cooper stt. They are super aggressive and preatty affordable. Also if you want 285s just know you will probably need to do some trimming on inner fenders. Not a big deal but 265s would be more of a daily driver type of tire.

I am curious what is "70" mean in the 285/70/17. I know 285=33" tires and the 17 is the rim. Is 70 the width and if so, will that fit my factory rims? Thank you.

285 is actually the width in milimeters. 70 is the "aspect ratio" as in the height of the side wall is 70% of the width. 0.7*285=199.5mm. So 285mm = 11.2 inches wide. 199.5mm = 7.85 inch side wall. 2 side walls plus the rim diameter equals the overall tire diameter. 7.85*2 + 17 = 32.7 inches which they call a "33".

Duratracs. I have had Cooper STT, Pro Comp xtreme ATs, and BFG ATs. Duratracs are by far the best tire I have owned. I can't speak to the others mentioned on here but there are an awful lot of happy Duratrac owners.
