I've owned 2 tacoma's and just bought a third for my stepson. He is 17 and I bought him a 95 Black Tacoma 4x4 with 236k miles for $1,800. Frame is good, head gaskets good, exhaust good, brakes new, clutch new. Needs the timing belt replaced and a new bumper. He is happy and I can help him with mods. Any suggestions?

He jumped off the back porch going after imaginary crap in the woods and snapped both front legs. He is a little high on pain meds in this photo:)

I would start by changing all fluids... Oil, transmission, front diff, rear diff, transfer case... Maybe get the oil send to oil analysis to see how well is the engine internally...

Here are some pictures from the rear. I will post front end and interior shots later. I will definitely replace all fluids and ask for oil analysis. I am also getting the timing belt replaced.

You will see from pics that bumper needs replacement.

Maybe you should buy my rear bumper so I can put the money towards an aftermarket one? Just a thought :)

Truck looks good. Don't think I've ever noticed those graphics like the ones on it before. I woulda shit if I'd gotten somethin like that handed to me as my first vehicle, I got a bicycle, lol....but that was the 60s. I imagine it's pretty much child abuse to not up a motor vehicle for kids nowadays. I know mine acted like it was until they got handed an 06 xb and an 07 tc in 09.:( Thank God you don't have twins in these situations because heaven forbid they share and carpool. They are girls so not as easy to go tough love hardass on them like you could with boys.:D

i got mine when i was 17 and i love it still getting a f250 to keep up with my work but they are the best trucks man. change the oil. plugs run some sea foam through the vac port on the T/B and that taco will run like a champ. sea foam is key. gets rid of carbon build up and residue from cheap gas.
