theres a lever under your wiper stalk, you have to push that down to set it. the lever that has the cruise button on the end of it.

There are no separate components for the cruise, other than a couple of switches. The computer uses the same electronic throttle body for cruise. With that in mind, I would guess either a bad switch on the clutch pedal (different from the one that allows the truck to start), or possibly the brake pedal. (not certain, but I believe there are two switches there as well).

Check your owners manual for full description.

It's a redundant system. You need to hit the button on the end to active, (turn on). Then push down the stalk to set. Then it is like most others with hitting the stalk up to increase and down to decrease.

Honda make more sense, the cruise light is only on when it is set. A separate button on the dash is pushed to turn it on, and it never needs to be turned back on. Toyota makes you turn it back on every time?
