    Very nice truck

Looks like you have the same size tires as me, which look too small on the truck. I haven't changed mine yet.

    Quick update here...

    1. Just got back from the auto parts store with $300+ in tools. I think I'm going to give it a go on completely replacing the suspension OME Suspension kit front and back AND all new bushings.
    2. Get it tomorrow afternoon- better late than never I guess.

I don't even have the truck yet and I'm thinking about going ahead with quite literally replacing the entire suspension...

I think I'm going to replace: Upper Control Arms, Shocks and Struts, Lower Control Arms, Inner AND Outer Tie Rods, Bushings on Tie Rod Rack, Sway Bar Bushings and new rear shackles. Honestly I haven't even seen it in person or driven it, so that's just the plan right now.

Am I completely off base here with wanting to do all that? I mean, if it ain't broke don't fix it?!? It is a 15 year old truck (after all) and I want it to drive like a brand new truck- especially after I put the lift/suspension kit on it.

Any other suggestions you guys have on stuff I should/could do to the suspension "while I'm at it"?

It is a complete undercoating of the frame and under-carriage.

The truck looks sharp! However, it looks like paint...not undercoating...maybe I'm wrong. I see it on the driver side rear mud flap, rear shock, spare tire, etc. Hopefully it wasn't freshly painted to cover anything up. Look it over really good.

Grab a file and scrape away that "undercoating" in different places and see if there's rust underneath, then you will know if it was just cosmetic or not.

Mine looks the same way and it was the undercoating done by Toyota. I thought at first it was paint over rust as well but its kinda thick. there will more than likely be rust underneath since Toyota just sprayed over everything. Mine is at the point where it's just flaking off everywhere since the rust has gotten bad enough to where the undercoating has nothing to hold on to. New frame coming soon so not to worried about it.

I worked for a Toyota dealership that would apply a rubberized undercoating that looked similar. Part of the salesman's 'upsale'. Looks like the original owner spared no expense. Nice truck. The application of this stuff required a hot tank and the sprayer couldn't be too detailed or controlled, think mud hopper for drywall texture.

    Too few to list.
I think you're just too excited. Wait until you get it before ordering parts. I agree with suspension work first. UCA/LCA aren't cheap if you're replacing the whole unit with good aftermarket parts. When I bought my 2003, the bushings and suspension parts were still good. I did replace the shocks, coils, and leafs. Changed out all fluids including brakes and clutch. Cleaned the throttle body, etc... Replaced the gauge lights with LED's as well.

You say OME, does that mean Dakars, too? If so, BPV relocate bracket, FK21 extended exhaust hanger (or cut the pipe inside the leaf pack), and extended rear brake lines, all available from Wheeler. See pic in my media images, 01 album.

My 32s rubbed everywhere with that backspacing. Front and back of frame. on the uca.The pinch weld. And still on the pinch weld after the first time beating it over.

    To follow up:
BPV relocate and extended rear brake line (red, but hard to see)

Exhaust drop (or chop pipe) and greasable shackles

    Better shot of greasabel shackles.

If you get them, also specify the OME bushings, not the Wheelers knockoff version, which is different material and also does not have proper grooving to allow grease flow replacement.

    Get these VVVV

    @scocar

Thanks for the pics man. That really helps to know what the end result should look like for me- especially the break line extension. I'll definitely get the OME bushings and clarify that with them. Seriously, thanks for posting that.

Guys- Quick question here... If I added spacers, would I still have to do the pinch weld mod? Don't mind buying spacers and installing them. Also thinking about doing wider tires/rims to give more surface are in the mud/swamps that I'd need that in.

Just wanted to see what you guys' thoughts were.
