Just bought the Bilstein 5100s. Any advice for an AAL? Thanks!

I just got a set of front and rear Bilstein 5100s for my 2006 TRD Sport. I'm excited to lift it up so I have some added ground clearance when driving through the woods. The rear shocks do not add lift and I would like it to sit level. Any input on an AAL is much appreciated; I really don't know what I'm looking for. Thank you!

Thanks! I am planning to re-use my coils if possible. I haven't found anything online that suggests it would be a terrible idea. Would you recommend otherwise?

My truck is in the shop now, but once I get a chance I need to verify if the TSB for the leaf has been done, and if the overload is on there. I barely even know what those terms mean, or what I'm looking for. One thing that worries me is buying the wrong size for the rear, because I'm not sure if I want the front to go up 1.75" or 2.5" on the 5100s; can't be confident til I set it to both and compare. I guess I should just play with the front first before I buy something for the back. Will it be relatively easy to see if the TSB has been done? It's 4 leafs vs 3, correct? What exactly is the overload?

If I didnt go with a full pack, I would go with a progressive 3-leaf pack from wheelers. Seems to have a nice ride quality vs a single aal from those who run it.

Thanks man. What exactly is a "full pack"?

A full leaf pack replaces your oem and also gives you a lift. An aal only add an extra leaf to your current oem pack. Ideally, always go with a full leaf pack if budget is not a concern, especially as old as your 2006.

Your 2006 likely has a 3 leaf from factory. If it's original, I would highly replace it due to age and sagging. Look into a full pack such as Dakar.

I added ICON progressive 3-leaf because I needed expedited shipping but I believe wheelers and headstrong are comparable. I got over an inch in the rear with the overload removed.

A little confused , your profile shows a 2011 tacoma? Either way, same advice would apply.

Or even a decent 3 leaf aal like the one from Icon. Its only a modest 1.5 inches

Ah sorry, just fixed it. Haven't posted on this site in a while. I set this profile up while leasing a 2011, ~8 years ago lol.

Thanks. I'm going to start with the front shocks at 1.75". If I stick with that, I'd probably only want one inch max in the rear for it to sit level right?

Ive heard that re using stock coil springs and setting the adjustable setting up higher on the 5100 causes the ride to worsen quite a bit so i went with some ome coils for 3" of lift in the front and dakar full leafs in the rear. Love my setup

The only option for a rear lift that's less than an inch and a half is a block. You probably won't even notice a 1 inch lift from a block, as soon as you put a bag of groceries in the back it'll sag down to where it was before LOL.

The icon add a leaf pack will settle down to somewhere between an inch inch and a half.

Good point, thanks. Any thoughts on just running the fronts at 1.75" and not touching the back? I need to verify if the TSB has been done..

That would result in some bro lean lol

In my opinion if you're going to lift the front and you want to do the rear correctly, forget about the TSB springs, forget about a block, get some Dakars and see how you like it once they settle in. If it's still too high in the back throw a couple sandbags in there and it will ride like a dream. They're going to ride the best, there's a reason everybody on here has them

i’m also looking at lifts. initially i wanted to go 3-4”, but then realized it would entail changing a lot more than 5100s, coils and aal.
