    The dealership probably should have have checked the tire pressures, and filled up that low tire. Then it probably would not have been an issue.

    Yes, it would seem they didn't check tire pressure but I can let that slide considering that I gave them some attitude about the rotation.

    I'm pretty sure the tacoma owners manual says to rotate the tires fernt to back only. No swapping of sides. I thought it was odd when i read it

    you are absolutely right, other Toyotas are like that too I checked the manual just now

    my Miata specifies front to back, back to diagonal

    So the whole time Toyota tech has been doing it right, my bad

    But still, I don't understand why, only by swapping diagonally can you ensure 1 tire visits all 4 positions after the 4th rotation

    I've marked tires before so that I can confirm a tire rotation. More recently, I felt an Audi dealer was trying to take advantage of me, so I checked the cabin filter they claimed to replace as part of the service. Busted. Dirty filter. They were apologetic and said it must have been an oversight. Really?...

    I must say, I’m impressed. Both that the service department was right, and that OP chose to share those details. Good on you.

    Did you get to the part where he admitted he messed up and all is good? Not saying it isn’t a good quality to have but... yea.

    The more I read these threads, the more I realize why I did all my own stuff on my old truck. Will be ok the new one soon enough, I'm sure.

    :rofl::rofl:

    It feels pretty passive aggressive, but I suppose you could mark each tire boldly in chalk with its location before you go in...

    Thats what i was thinking. Who types up a dealership rant while still standing in the waiting room? He gets in the truck, drives 5 minutes down the road and the light goes out
