Just canceled my Insurance with a company I have been with for 40 years...This company has made it way to difficult to maintain my policy(s). Photos, signed mileage statements, double payments at renewal, etc. etc.

While I was at the Toyota Dealership buying my new 2024 4Runner a couple of weeks ago I noted that Toyota has their own Insurance Company now. (ToyotaInsurance.com)

    I submitted my vehicle(s) information (2024 4Runner SR5 & 2018 Tesla Model 3), quote came back almost $2,000 cheaper a year.

Not a Shill for Toyota Insurance, Short Story Short....real happy. Even my wife is happy (That will last for about a day)

It’s Toyota Insurance ish. It’s really just Toyota operating as an agent and your insurance is underwritten by Toggle, part of Farmers Insurance. They just shop around to find the best rate provided by all the typical insurance providers.

Hope it works for you. Sometimes the company that comes in that much cheaper will fight you tooth and nails when you have to file a claim. The reason they are so cheap is they don't pay out unless you're liable.

I just dropped my auto policy with Farmers. They’ve been raising my premiums almost every renewal and I haven’t had any accidents or tickets. The last renewal was 22% higher, and it had gone up 49% over the last two years!

It seems that some companies figure that the longer you're with them, the more likely you are to file a claim.

A little side note, I was an Insurance Agent for 10 years with the company I bailed on....I've had no claims in 40 years other than a couple of broken windshields and one where my wife got her bumper clipped.

I understood that, for $2,000 a year I'll make that bet.

It helps to have bundled insurance.
We've been with Cincinnati since 2000 & insure 5 vehicles, our Il.home and a liability rider on the Idaho property.

Also if one is willing to increase the deductible, rates are better.
I'm paying $399 a year full coverage on the 2015 TRD Sport I just bought w/ $1,000 deductible

The board members need their insane pay packages..how else are they supposed to increase profit? Innovation and hard work is so yesterday. Much easier to just gouge longtime customers

I'm going through the same exercise right now. I've been with State Farm for 30+ years. I used to look every few years or so to see if there were any savings to be had, but I could never save money with a different provider. Then on top of it, the handful of times I needed them, they were johnny on the spot, and just made things right via a painless process. Then, just over the last 10 months or so our cost for auto insurance has gone up over 50% and not because of anything we did. I started looking around, comparing quotes and I could switch and save close to $1000/yr. Crazy stuff to me but I have the worries others have mentioned, service has been so good, will be get hosed with someone else if we needed them. Then, on the flip side, we've got two kids who will be driving in 3 and 5 years, respectively. I'm scared to think what SF might charge for them.

It's a little more difficult in my experience to bundle anymore. A lot of Insurance Companies have bailed out in California for Homeowner's Insurance. I live in a "High Fire Risk" Zone so my rates have almost tripled over the last 10-15 years. We've had 2 Evacuations in the last 20 years...being the knot head I am....I stayed both times.

I agree, I've had $1000 deductible for quite a while. At today's body shop and parts costs, it doesn't take much to get to $1000. Mrs JGO had a minor bender (solo don't ask) and it was $850, paid it and never notified anyone. That $850 was not much when compared to savings over the years. If I can get a $1500 this renewal, I'll take it.

Watch for rate creep, almost all of them do it. The initial quote is low going in and before you know it the premium has creeped back up to what you were paying.
