FWIW to the OP and others in Central Texas...I used SOCO Windshield repair. The first windshield was a PGW and had vertical lines of distortion on the driver's side and some wind noise from the lower corner. Nick @ SOCO was very willing and eager to make things right and replaced with a Pilkington. The new w/s looks great - there's still a tiny bit of distortion on the passenger side, but not nearly as noticeable and there is no wind noise now! I can recommend SOCO.

I had my 2012 windshield replaced at a small local glass place for 180. I have a crack in my 2014 and will be taking it there shortly.

I had the windshield replaced by Safelite (here in Austin as well) on my previous car, and they used some cheapo glass that had those "waves" in it. I'm convinced that it was weaker glass than OEM because I cracked less than 2 months later and eventually split in 4 directions. I never had it replaced again, just traded in the car for my Tacoma with the cracks still on it. /thuglife
