Just curious if any one here has a 2016 Tacoma and has been thinking about trading up for a 2017 Tacoma, I'm sure there are a few.

I have even thought of trading up my 2016 Tacoma TRD OR 2WD up towards the end of year for a 2016 Tundra TRD PRO, I have good equity in the 2016 and only owe around $15,000.00 by then!

I did see the 2017 Tacoma TRD PRO but its not to far off in price from the 2016 Tundra TRD PRO.

Any thoughts, Don't get ugly over this, just thinking because Im already up in age and never owned a 4WD!

Unless you realized you made a mistake by getting a 2wd instead of 4wd or want the TRD Pro, then there is no point. The 2017's are pretty much going to be the same. And anything they fix (highly doubtful) for the 2017 rollout will be rolled down to the 2016 owners.

I will buy a Cement TRD pro next year -- IF -- it has a moonroof. I keep hearing conflicting reports.

If anyone trades up, it's more than likely because they didn't buy the truck that suited their needs, or they want to grab a Pro. Honestly it's pretty foolish either way in my opinion. They will be taking a loss no matter how they look at it. Luckily for them the Tacoma having the best resale value, helps lessen that blow

If I trade I'm going away from Toyota. I will go back to a Ford Ranger (if/when it comes out) or will consider the diesel Canyon and will mod the front end for better approach angle.

No doubt in my mind the next ford ranger is going to be badass. And ford already has seen what most of the competition has. It's going to shake up the segment. No doubt about it

If (when) the Ranger comes back, if it actually maintains the old ranger look but refreshed (and not like a ridgeline or avalanche), and IF ford drops a manual tranny 4x4 option in it.....lord have mercy, my tacoma will fly out of my driveway to the ford dealership.

I do like the good things about my tacoma, but the vibration problems and other weird little problems it keeps developing are unacceptable for a 30k+ truck. I can not repeat that enough. And what is worse is that Toyota says everything is normal. Not once in any other vehicle I have ever driven, have my hands and feet started to go numb/tingle from buzzing vibration making its way through the steering wheel and cabin.

I came from a ford and was REALLY looking forward to the Tacoma, wanting to keep it forever, but as each day goes on, I unfortunately start to believe the success and sales of the new generation are based on people drinking the kool aid. It's disappointing, I'm having problems that didn't develop for 100k+ miles on my old truck and my tacoma is only 1 month old.

Ok, I'm ready for the fan club and the "and, ignored" train.

Should be out late next year. As an 18 model, unless they get delayed or something. It's not going to look like the old ranger. That truck looked the same for a long time. Things are different now. They might make it look like a more scaled version of the f150. Or it might look a lot like the current global ford ranger

I absolutely empathize with your problems, and sincerely hope there is a solution. But let's not paint such a broad stroke on the 3rd gen as not all of us are having these issues. It's kind of a crap shot. Even if one were to get a new vehicle, you may get one that also develops a random problem that the dealer deems is normal--while others may not. It's also really hard to say that 'all trucks vibrate' but to a certain degree. All we have is Tacomaworld for reference and sample size--can't really say much about other Tacoma forums as I have seen the same people here on other forums complain about the same issue, and maybe out of 10,000 trucks sold, a handful is aware of this forum and is posting.

I guess what i'm really saying is, it's kind of luck of the draw. Except you can't really walk away from a $40K truck and taking a loss is more than unacceptable for most folks.

That and dealer help seems to be luck of the draw, and I can absolutely understand why folks are upset.

Scaled F150 would be fine too. That image of the global model though? No thanks, can't call that a ranger comeback, that thing just looks like a newer Sport Trac.

Yes I will admit that it is my own personal experience and my basis on how "widespread" issues are is based only on this site and people saying it also occurs on x amount of other tacomas they test. I do realize a lot of people are completely happy with theirs.

The tacoma still is the best option in its class, and the fact that they offer a manual transmission keeps me waiting for toyota to acknowledge those of us with these ridiculous issues (mainly the vibration issue, I can look past the other minor ones). I can wait a couple years and if toyota doesn't change their approach or if I haven't fixed the issue myself by that time, oh well, live and learn, I'll say farewell.
