Brakes were squeaking when I bought the truck. Replaced the pads about 3 weeks ago, driver side was fine, but one pad on the passenger side was worn and thats where the wear indicator squeak came from. Long story short, decided to change both sides, and I used brake grease, what could be making them squeal all of a sudden again?

Sure it's not a dust guard dragging? Didn't muck up the pads when you out them in did you?

    ...too much shit to list.
"Looking" only tells you if there are cracks. You cant see a hundredth of an inch. Mic the rotors in a few spots and it's easy to tell if you have flat spots. Chances are you need to turn the rotors.

Always get them turned. Why not for 20bucks.

Turning the rotors could very well be the answer to my problem.. The truck has almost 140k on it and I highly doubt the rotors have ever been changed. thanks guys!

Both pads in a caliper should wear evenly. If only one of two pads is worn, that indicates a problem with the caliper. I would rebuild or replace it.

IMHO, rotors should be turned or replaced when replacing the brake pads.
Helps to get the pads seated to the rotors and also breaks the glazing that is always there.
Did you burnish in the new pads?
Run it up to about 45min and lay on the brakes enough to slow down to 5mph as fast as possible without locking em up. Do not come to a stop.
Should do that 2-3 times. Seats the pads and burns off and residue on the pad face.
Did you orient the new pads in the same manner as the old pads in relation to where the sqeel indicator is located?
It should be on the leading edge of the caliper.
    Did you buy metallic pads?
If so, turning the rotors could fix a brake sqeel too.

Caliper might be sticking. That's the problem I have now. I bought brakes from NAPA and about 3 weeks later, they started squeaking. Just replaced them a month ago and they're already squeaking again and grinding.

Just sprayed some brake cleaner on the rotors and the squeak is gone. I also noticed the brake fluid was a bit dark, so I bled they system and put fresh fluid in. so hopefully that'll help my pads wear evenly and I won't run into that problem again.
