IMO, the 2012-15 is the best looking front end of all the 2nd/3rd gens. I am patiently waiting for a black hood on the marketplace and I will pull the trigger to upgrade my 05. I plan on keeping my offroad bumper so should be an easy project just replacing hood, lights, and grille.

That looks sharp, good job. The OCD Tacoma nerd in me is thrown off by the 16 inch alloys and Sport front end. But it looks good

I'm with you there. I like the profile of the 3rd gen, but the front end doesn't isn't my cup of tea. I do like the 4th gen.

The problem with the design of the 3rd gen front end is the massive grille along with inferior 3.5 engine.

Is your truck paint code 202 black or is it 209 black sand pearl? If it it black sand pearl, you probably won't find a 2.5 gen hood unless you're in Canada. They didn't make a 2.5 gen black sand pearl in the US. I did the 2nd to 2.5gen conversion and I have black sand pearl. I painted everything myself in a shop. It came out great.

    I like it!

    One reason I bought a 13 and never considered a 3g.

Yeah, I was hoping to see one up close to see the color difference before deciding to paint it to match the BSP color of mine. At this point, I'll take any hood color and have it repainted.
