Just hit 170k miles, to do the swap and get new retrofits to fit the new front end would be a costly conversion lol.

    I hear ya.
I'm at 210k and thinking about the swap b/c my hood will need a repaint eventually. And I'd do the ultimate headlight upgrade to oem instead of another retrofit kit.

I think it's a nice refresh on a higher mileage truck. Could help you appreciate the appearance more, resulting in keeping it even longer. If it's mechanically good condition, I say go for it

Trust me I have so much I want to do to my truck, but I'm in the "Buy a house stage" of my life so money is tight. Which means actually I'll probably look to buy a GR corolla soon. I want a 2015 trd sport to replace my '08

    Paint job was $1500
    Parts ended up around $1800

I used a mix of oem and aftermarket. I chose to add Diode Dynamics fog lights and replace the fender liners which raised the project cost over my target somewhat. I can post my parts list when I get home.

My bumper cover was trashed; my college aged son had started driving it versus the 4Runner we have and he brought up the project idea. I thought it would be fun to do together. Also, I wanted him to learn more about how things are put together and the value of updating something vs. replacing something that works perfectly fine.

I just mean it's got a scoop. Sport vibes..

With 16 inch wheels instead of those 17s that came on all the sports

    I'm sorry to hear it.
Was he OK after the accident?
Is he still OK after you found out?
