Just dropped the hammer on complete lift kit

Honestly you shouldnt have a problem with the UCA bolt. If you have a spare set of hands it helps. Bend a little sheet metal in the engine bay and use an awl to punch the bolt out.

Then install it in the reverse direction

 

I forget what the price was and I did mine in July so I really didn't feel like running up to Mayslanding to get new ones. That and I think they had to order them. If you don't buy new bolts you just have to bend some of the inner fender to get the bolts out and reverse them when reinstalling. BTW the truck looks good. Did you get any vibes?

 

12 a piece from toyota and most dealerships will have them the next day when you order, i think 9 online.

 

I have a small shudder at stop lights, from 6-9mph. the truck did this stock as well, I have a 2.5degree shim in there now. I might try the CB drop to see if it helps get rid of it completely.

yeah it was pretty simple, having access to a lift and air tools cut down a lot of the time

probably putting on the TC UCA tomorrow, thats if the auto hobby shop is open on base. ill call in the AM to see if they're open. i'd do it in my driveway, but i only have up to a 19 mm socket/wrench, im gonna need a 22mm according to the how-to/DIY i just read. plus id rather do it in a warm bay.

 

Are you sure your gonna need them? I have about 3.5" lift and everything is dandy. The tires wear nice and smooth and it drives great. The alignment tech said its slightly off but no biggie. Just saying If you like to dump the $$$ its fine with me I've dumped a bunch in my Mercedes but if you got them because you were told you need them check first. Might be able to put it into something else.

 

I drover truck with the stock UCAs for about 6 months. The truck drove straight and the alignment shop said it was within specs. But the truck wondered and the tires where getting torn up on the outer edge. I installed the TC UCAs and had it aligned again it make a world of difference.

 

1: i got them because i was told i would need to to have a proper aligment
2: got them fearing 17x9 rims & 285-70 tires rubbing on the stock uca
3: i wanted them for more travel.
4: i like the bling factor
5: i dont have $$ but im comfortable, i had planned for a super charger, but since its not avail for 2013. i took that money and did my suspension and wheels

i could have spent 4k on my daily driver bone stock car which i dont want to do because it will be 10 years old. or drop it on a fat tire kit for my motorcycle.

looking at the front tires from the front i can see i have some really positive camber truck looks like \-----/ so im glad i got them, because tires... are not cheap

as you can see my bike doesnt need much to make it look any better
but the taco needed a little help

 

bone stock a few days after i bought it, not a bad looking truck, but it definitely needs to stand out from the rest of the taco's i see

 

just finished installing the Total Chaos upper control arms... the truck, while taking turns now chirps and squeels tires, drives straight, but i know the alignment its off. i will probably get an aligment in the next 2 weeks. i want everything to settle and seat itself first.

the tires came, theyre sitting in my spare bedroom waiting for the damn rims to get here.

4wheelparts said i should see the wheels by mid january, i think they are on back order nationwide and the next shipment is coming jan 9th from overseas, when they get that shipment, they will send it to me. i cant wait!

i have a feeling I'm going to have to do the cab mount chop.

what size tires and wheels are you running and did you do the cab mount chop?

 

I have the 285/75R16. I didn't do the chop yet it just barely clears at full lock. I did have to trim up some of the plastic inner fender and I have to cut some more I still rub when backing up an the wheel is cut to the right but that is an easy fix. I think too when I start adding some weight to the front it may bring the front down enough that it may hit the cab mount. My brother in law is a great welder, metal fabricator and said work has been slow, so I might get him to do the chop for me and weld it back up.

 

I had to chop the shit out of my cab mount to fit the 285 duratracks. I have less lift than you though nick and my wheels probably stick out farther.

wheels are 17x9, 4.5 BS, -12mm offset

 

I have the same tires, my wheel dimensions are 17x8.5, 4.3 BS, -10mm offset. I am not good at figuring that out though, i believe mine might stick out a little more. I rubbed the cab mount without flexing the suspension with 2.7* caster and 23" center of hub to bottom of fender.
