Name calling and gaslighting, of course.

Why is it those defending others for acting poorly are the ones who also act so poorly?
I expect it's folks who don't like being called out for acting so because they themselves may get called out for it.
Standard gatekeeping and mob mentality, drive it to the bottom and then make sure to keep it there, ensuring you lash out vehemently against those who try and change it. Make sure to belittle any who don't conform and drive them away so that they don't participate or support.

You can keep defending the poor actions of others but know that you only work to make this a worse community, not a better one.

Going to stay at the bottom I see, very well then. Well that's simply solved.

If you participate in a community you should try and make sure you add value to the community, not detract from it.

Personally I like the idea if it was functional. I’ve been considering making a limb saver myself for my truck. I drive a lot of roads where getting out and moving every branch isn’t feasible. I get out and clear larger stuff, I just want something to keep the smaller branches from slapping the windshield. Also, I’d like the item to be practical for a tie down for my canoe when it’s on my cab rack.

I was explaining to my children the other day about artists and inventors being creative and thinking out of the box. This is exactly what you did. Some may love it and some may hate it…every inventor or out of the box thinker gets people coming at them from both sides of the spectrum when it comes to comments and opinions. Keep innovating and working on ideas man, maybe some critiques you can take and improve your ideas.

I wish they were functional as well!

Someone linked these for functional versions. This looks pretty nice!

The comment string is not unexpected, it happens to everything around here. I know it's just feeding the trolls but it's like this here because nobody speaks up, that just brings in the mob unfortunately. Anyways, appreciate the comment.

I think it would functional for a canoe/kayak tie down if it was strong enough. The alternative is finding some random crevice on the front bumper.

I make some functional components for other uses and I would be really nervous about putting any load on it. They can be pretty strong but between the plastic it's made of, the printing process itself, and the double sided tape holding it on there can be lots of points of failure

Ya, think it would need to be at least screwed to the body or frame to be a viable canoe tie down. A 80 mph wind on a canoe is no joke.

If I put my canoe on top of my cab, I would definitely be interested in something like this. I think you need to combine the new holland design and your design to make a structural solution. Stainless from the body through the hood crack, then nice looking plastic handle that is visible.

DIY canoe loops are an easy solution. $2 worth of webbing bolted to the fender mounts. There when you need them and tucked when you don't.

You have the right idea about post-print drilling for the light pipe. Design it with a hole the size of the light pipe in it, then drill it out.
I also like the idea of having it wrap around the edge of the hood, both on the side and in the front.

    Subbed for V3!

    Keep up the fun work!

Pictures of "v2" later today. v3 wrapping around the hood and fender....interesting, I'll look into it!

    Zero interference. Wipers work fine.
Loops are half way down the fender. You can move them to the first bolt if you like - our 16ft Prospector doesn't reach that far.

Don't use these tie downs if you have a scoop.

Then these trucks would be un stoppable and cooler
