Find someone with the Anarchist Cook Book, make the prescribed boobie traps around the perimeter of your home as well as under you windows inside, and every door in the house. Just remember how to defeat them, and where they are.

A lot of great suggestions have been made on this thread so far, and I'm very sorry to hear that this is happening to you man. People like that are cowards, and live sad lives. My solution is definitely not the best, but more of the cheaper alternatives. A good bomb will run you $12 bucks, and have minimal property damage while yielding maximum suffering to you victims.

That sounds intersting, Ill look into it. Skeptical about setting bomb boobie traps though, I would hate for it to go off on someone by accident. Thanks man.

No doubt. There are ways to set up small remote systems for dirt cheap in that book so that doesn't happen. Everything is (unfortunately) explained so that a third grader could make the stuff.

My house was broken into a couple years ago around noon a week before Christmas. They tried breaking into my neighbors house first, pulling off a couple screens and half braking a window (double pane), ultimately breaking my kitchen window and climbing in.
My girlfriend had taken my dog for the day, but the police said that might have been better since they'd seen more dead dogs than dead burglars. Though, I think her barking might have initially scared them away from even trying. She's only 50 pounds but sounds mean.
They took my gun that I would have used to protect myself if I was there, along with other pawn-able stuff. Now I've got cameras in the front and back that record and I can access on my phone, though they would only help after the fact. People think it's really weird to have when they see them, I had to make sure my neighbors didn't think I was a drug dealer or something.
Fix your gate so it'd be obvious if they're trying to take stuff out of your house, over a fence and into a van in the street, and not just backing it right up to your door. Fake stickers, cameras, etc. Most things in this thread are good ideas except waiting with your gun to shoot them, then it's premeditated.

My house was scouted and broken into 3 years ago.

    1. Dogs are worthless I don't care how mean it is. A pack of 49cent ham keeps them busy for about 10min.
    2. I have 4 security camera's, all are wireless IP camera's (FOSCAM). They took about 150 pictures of the guys coming in, feeding my 2 pits meat, stealing my shit, and leaving. THE CAMERAS ARE THE ONLY REASON I GOT MY SHIT BACK! I got so many pictures of their faces, clothes, and they car they were driving the cops were able to find the car, and all my stuff in it.

Camera's make a big difference.. Just don't display them in the open, don't put up signs saying you have them etc.. Set them up to take pic's on motion to an off site server.. You can get these FOSCAM's off of ebay for 100$ each. Yes they are chinese, but I've had 4 of them for 3 years, running 24/7 and only one died on me..

The best thing to do is call the cops, over, and over, and over again.. keep buggin them, talk to your neighbors, get camera's and take pic's.. If I were you, keep the dog in the kennel.. It will keep the dog safe from harm.

Not sure if someone mentioned it already, long thread already, haha. But I would make a big sign for my front yard that says "Hey you guys that have been trying to rob my house, I know who you are and your on TV!!!"

We went through this a while back. I installed a gate (you have one just fix it). If you make it a pain in the ass, most dirtbags won't bother. They want to be in and out and they can't do that very well if they are messing with a locked gate for ten minutes trying to get in.

We also let it be known to the neighbors that we have a GSD that stays at home all the time and is trained in personal defense. That way, if one of our neighbors was in on all the break-ins on our road they would think twice about it. Only downfall of doing that is the neighbors that used to come over are scared shitless of our GSD now. They won't even walk over when we are outside with the dog. (Not really a downfall if you ask me, you haven't met our neighbors)

When we are home and I see a vehicle on the road that doesn't look familiar, I write down the make and model and try to get a plate number. This is easy for us though because we live in a dead end road. Once they pass by I'm ready by the time they come back by to get a good look at them.

Good luck and I hope they lose interest. If not, let your dog do what a dog is suppose to do....be your best friend!

Tell people you are recording them, they will wear masks.. Don't say you are, better chance they will just sneak in without masks. Get some pic's of the face.

They want what you have a sign saying your being recorded will not help. It will help them know that they are being recorded and to cover their tracks better.

Bottom line is you dont want a confrontation. Get the details from your neighbor alert the local police department. Do what you can to make your home and valuables more secure. (i.e. Fix the gate, longer screws in the door hinges. Door jam armor is great for kick-ins. (look here: www.kickproofdoor.com/. Cameras would be good for catching them in action.)
Make sure you and your family have a good plan and practice it in case of a break in while you are home. Guns are great for protection, but they are only as good as the person shooting them. If you get a firearm make sure you get one you are comfortable with and practice with it every chance you get. Might even take some firearm classes for self defense and a lot of theses classes help you learn and understand the laws of your area. Also dont go putting antagonistic signs out, might be what pushes the over the edge to kick your door in. A security sign or sticker in the window might also be what might make them scoot to the next neighborhood, so those arent a bad idea.

And remember failure to prepare in preparing to fail.

Good luck and keep us posted

Round up a bunch of your rowdiest, nuthin-to-lose, no-future buddies and have a week-long bbq. That's what I would do when I lived in Riverside, that got rid of those nosy, shady little f*cks real fast.

But then again, I think we got wasted and went on a few witch hunts with random objects in our hands...

Didn't read the whole thread, but I like this idea already. Make it a few days if you can, fake a getaway. In my opinion thieves don't deserve to live. Then again, here in Ca. you'll probably get in more trouble than those pieces of shit would.
