I have not ever messed with the stereo equipment in any of my vehicles before. I have been lucky and had either a good factory sound system or what not. Well I just got my first ever BRAND NEW vehicle and I love it... EXCEPT.. the sound is luke warm.. Ho-Hum.. BLAH...

What should I do? I do not wanna mess anything up jack with changing out the stereo form the factory that is touch screen etc... Anyone out there have advice on things such as simple speaker swaps? or do I need a amp or whatever? I know I need to do some research and learn what the heck I am even talking about.. but thought would be a good idea to ask the fantastic taco fans for and advice on what to do or to read or whatever.. HELP I AM A AUDIO NEWBIE AND WANT TO DO THIS RIGHT!

My stock system is great? Are you lacking in bass or clearity or is it just not loud enough?

One can never have too many light bars.
Does the Texas Edition have the JBL system?

Well.. It is like this.. It seems like all of the above. I am not sure how to put to words. I keep wanting to say the sound is not as rich as say in my wifes 2014 escape for example. I have messed with all the settings etc.. It seems like it could be more rich clear louder and more bass..

Ok so it probably had the same system I had. I wanted to keep my stock touch screen as well and the sound was crap. I bought all new pioneer speakers , new harnesses and plastic adapters, and sound deadening pads off Amazon. I bought the tweeter adapters off taco-tunes. Watch a few do it yourself videos on how to replace Tacoma speakers on you tube (there's a ton of them). All this cost about 200 bucks and it's super easy to do yourself because all the Tacoma speakers are in the doors so there's no need to rip up the dash. Your doors might rattle a little and this is due to the control switch in the door being loose. wrap the sides with electrical tape and it will fit tighter and lose the rattle. I'm a novice at this stuff and it took me about 5 hours to do.
