i say fight it, unless he had something to record the decibels, he has no proof of what the level was.

...but, I hate it when people play their shit too loud...The kind of loud that is disturbing and makes it so I cannot hear my stereo or have a conversation as i walk down the street, If you are one of those people, I hope the ticket sticks.

depends on how the law is written

Here, the law is actually written to include that if the responding officer determines the sound level to be excessive...he can ticket

Noise ordinance is often not enforced, the police are being leniant by not doing so. Got away with it 400x and got a ticket once isnt BS, its either not caught/not enforced 400x.
Noise ordinance laws is a good thing. Honestly , do what you want with the stereo, its your hearing or hearing loss 87db for sustained periods leads to hearing loss, less of it still can, 85db for short periods has shown some hearing loss , just not in everyone. Just do your loudest volumes on the freeway/out of the neigborhoods, areas it wont matter.
The thing is people dont want to hear stereos pumping in the neigborhood or even around town. So a persons right to pump it, is rightfully limited to others right NOT to have to hear it. So simple .Loud volume isnt a right. Its moderated by noise ordinance laws, to maintain others rights , and to keep the roads safe at some point.
I hear music I like from someones car, but he couldnt hear the ambulance approaching due to the way excessive volume, wondered why i was staring at him and the road behind him.I switched attitudes on him, I told him if the music sucks so bad you have to roll the window down to get the stench out, just throw the music out.

If the officer heard you 25' away, and your window was down, i say you dont really deseerve a ticket, but it really falls down to just how really loud it was. If the window was up , and he heard it 25' away, well, dont take it too personal, but the ticket seems quite appropriate.
If you really wonder how loud it is,nothing beats solid proof. Radioshack used to sell decibel meters for like $45 ,quite accurate too. You might be able to compare the level vs ordinance laws.

Keep enjoying the tunes, whatever the volume

    a lot lol
I completly understand that music can be TOO loud. The thing was is i was the only one in town, not a house was around, so i couldnt disturb anyone? and my windows was down. so i mean that just seems like a load of BS to me. I really just hope im able to get out of it. I need money for my truck.

Stupid laws are stupid. Worthless officers who enforce them, are worthless. . . Should have thanked the scum for protecting the public from your sound waves. . . Just another way to make money I guess.

    oh please, grow up.
Yea, and you should be able to go 100 where you want too,not pay for insurance or gas, where does the self entitlement end?
Remember you said that when its your house at 4am and all the noise slows for your house.People making that kind of comment deserve a cop with time on his hand since they seem to be the only hooligan around , or just the most obvious one.

Nail with the head up ....gets the hammer.

Ever tried to sleep on a cool day with your windows open and some idiot is cruising your hood with his bass hitting and radio cranked up? It's really annoying.

Or tried to walk down the street with your wife on a Friday night and the bass drowns out your conversation.

My quality of life should not be affected by someone else's tunes.

No. . . That's dangerous to others. I don't even know what the rest of your post means. . .

    sometimes. When it's needed.

Ever tried to enjoy your music w/o some ass, sleeping in the middle of the day, calling the cops on you?
