Stock suspension, stock wheels, stock bumper, stock, stock, stock, dammit!
This might be true of other makes, but not so much with Toyota trucks! I drove my first truck for 14 years, and it was still running like the day I bought it new. I had a few repairs to deal with, but no big ones during the warranty period, and you have to count any repairs as maintenance past the warranty years, don't you? :p I sold that truck and bought a 2 year old 94 with 20,000 miles on it, and drove it for 13 years with very few repairs. Now I've traded it in for a used 09, and I talked them down on the price so much that I really did save money. I feel confident that if I don't opt to get my toy taco (prerunner or 4x4) in a few years, this truck will last forever!

Congrats on the new purchase! The thing about buying new vs used, on the second gen tacomas they hold value so well it almost doesn't make sense to save just a tiny bit over a slightly used. So, basically it's one of the very few exceptions :D

They do hold their value which was a key selling point to me as well. The new beds are all composit plastic. Rust in the bed of the "88 was the downfall of that vehicle. How long have they been making composit beds. I know they won't rust but will they hold up?
