A little over a month ago I ordered my DC 4x4 6spd sport and it came in this weekend! I was very excited and love the truck, but now I am very sad...

After I picked it up I noticed the AC did not work. I brought it back immediately and they checked for leaks and refilled the AC refrigerant. The dealer was great about the problem. Anyway I drove the truck for a few days and today the AC stopped working again. :( To fix the problem they would likely have to pull out the dash to replace the evaporator. I am now concerned about the truck and what else might be wrong. I am also concerned that once the vehicle is taken apart it won't ever be the same. I have removed and reinstalled dashes before and they squeak eventually, and there is nothing that can be done about it, I've tried.

    What would you do?

you're going to return the truck because the dealer is going to replace a part for free? Also I've had my entire dash apart twice now, everything went back together just fine, no squeaks.

I think you need to realize this is a very minor problem, much more minor than you would find with a lot of other vehicle makes.

I hear you monkey brother. Get documentation, keep the truck and if all fails in the future give it back.

There's a few "quirks" with our trucks you just gotta get used to, they're not major ones anyways. At least, I haven't experienced anything major.

So your beef is with the ac? Why put 6spd in the title then?

What would I do? (to answer your question) let them fix the issue and if you don't like the truck sell it.

The truck will be fine... just keep tabs on the clutch, I hear of minor issues with the throwout bearings alot.

I think they did not notice the problem when they checked out the truck before they gave it to me because the guy who checked it did not know how to drive a standard. I feel like if it was an auto, I would have never even known about the problem. It was not easy to get the 6spd and there was a long wait to get one ordered. It's like an omen or something is all.

So you feel the manual has something to do with the ac not working? I'm so confused right now.... and if it was an auto you wouldn't have known the ac didn't work? maybe I'm just tired or not reading this right. I hope your problem gets fixed good sir.

he's saying it wasn't thoroughly checked over because the retard that checks the trucks cant drive a manual. Therefore if it was an auto they would have caught it and fixed it before he took delivery.

Sorry I'm not being clear. If the guy that checks new vehicles out at the dealership could have driven a manual he would have noticed the AC did not work and would therefore have gotten it fixed before I got there. Of course I am just guessing he could not drive one, but it's not a stretch.

I just noticed the GST checklist does not have a check mark on the AC either, so the problem got missed several times.

    Thanks for the support guys.

Don't worry...the squeaky springs should more than adequately over-ride any noises from the dash.

Ok, say this truck was sitting on the lot and a salesman noticed the AC didn't work. He'd have it fixed and nobody would ever know about it. Yours is getting fixed for free. What's the issue?
