Now I just need some nicer weather. Did a lot of kayak fishing last year, but it was sometimes a pain in the ass to get all tuckered out and then have to drive home, so I'll be throwing a twin mattress and a sleeping bag in there this coming season and just camp overnight. Yeah, it'll look pretty "rapey" to have a mattress back there, but hey, I'm an old guy so I can get away with it.
This morning I learned that I need some sort of mesh divider in the bed. I put a few bags at the end of the bed, but they all slid up to the front of the bed when I had to stop for a red light and I had to climb in the bed to get the bags. You guys know of any simple solutions? Thanks as always.

Toyota has cargo nets, but a good outdoor supply place like Cabela's or Gander Mountain might have something. Also, just check the auto supply stores.

    Three things:
    1) congrats, it looks great!
    2) check out Airbedz. They make a heavy duty self-inflating mattress that will fit your bed...
    3) VooDoo Fab build a nice basket that attaches to your bed rails, can be used as both a wall and a container. If that's out of your budget, yes- there are lots of mesh/bungee options.

4th Bonus Item) if you don't display the duct tape and ether, the whole set-up will look far less "rapey!"

LOL, the duct tape, candy and gags will be kept out of sight, behind the seat.

Yeah, if I didn't already have an almost-new twin mattress that never gets used I would probably go the air mattress route.

running boards, bug deflector, window deflectors, tail gate liner, bed mat
Now that you got a camper, to stop things from sliding toward the front:
    1. Get a carpet or a rubber bed mat
    2. cut a 2X4 to fit across the bed and place it just behind the rear wheel wells toward the rear. With the tail gate down that is about as far as you can reach into the bed, cut snug enuf you can put it in tall-wise, that 3 1/2 inch "fence" will keep most things from sliding forward. Actually the
1 1/2" side will keep most things from sliding forward. Bed walls are somewhat tapered so you'll have to test and try cutting angles

The 2X4 is cheap, my 2008 bed mat was about $50, probably twice that now, a hunk of used carpet from a carpet installer is cheap also if you can get say something out of a bedroom and cut the section for the truck that was under a full sized bed. When using as a camper with the mattress just remove the 2X4. This bed mat, 2X4 combo has worked perfectly for me since 2008, nothing slides forward and I can reach everything.

Congrats on the shell it looks nice. The mat helps things from sliding a lot but...it still happens. For whatever reason I had a rock rake in mine once and ended up using it to retrieve something from the front, its been in the shell ever since.

+1 on the cargo mat I use a bed bar to keep things near the back.
