I can't blame you for thinking that way. The most innocent-seeming spy device of all, though, is the iPhone. And to some degree any cell phone.

Right, nearly every phone app uses GPS locational data. I really don't care, they can monitor my driving all they want if it's saving me almost $800 a year. The premium on my truck was over $900 per 6 months and now it's down to $515 per 6 months since using the dongle.

How long did it take you to get that discount? One six-month policy period?

Pretty much, I saw a smaller discount when I first added it but then when I got my 6-month renewal premium I was extremely surprised it went down so much.

Insurance Rates can vary vastly depending on which state and zip code you live in.
I have recently moved to Tennessee from West Virginia and my 6 month premium dropped from $628 to $406 every six months with GIECO.
I now live in East TN tri-cities area compared to a college town back in WV.

Quite your bitching. Everybodys car insurance is going up this year about 6% to pay for Houston.

I remember my first year driving. My insurance was $2400 for the year. And that was back in 1989!!! And man was I a terrible driver. LOL

I remember paying over 2 grand a year back in the mid 80s, my Dad wanted me to have my own policy so if I had any accidents or tickets it would not mess up his rates.

That is expensive for back in the 80s. Most of the money you made from working was going to pay car insurance. Good lord.

I didn't have a choice when I bought the truck. I'll probably be going to talk to The Co-operators, see what they can get me.
