My 2.7 has really high 3:31 road gears and has plenty of pep. :)

Planning on eventually going solid axle with 37's on my truck.

So either way I'd be getting a dd

If this wasn't real life, I'd have a 5 lug reg cab manual with all of tooter's mods + a supercharger & some coilovers. Maybe a 4.10 ratio. That little truck would be a blast.. I bet with all the intake and exhaust mods it would be pushing close to 300 hp

    It is. :)
It's very responsive for a little 4 banger pickup truck, and it makes going to work fun. The wider wheels and tires while retaining the stock wheel diameter keeps the axles relatively close to the ground for great handling in the corners.

That's an excellent description of torque. :)

Torque is not horsepower. It's not quicker acceleration... but rather the ability to hold the same rpm level under increased load.

    Been noticing that too lately.
The more I drive, the more I notice that I can carry a higher gear than before.

Hey OP, where did you get your LCE header from, and if I may ask, what did you pay for it?

You didn't get penalized for living in Hawaii. Mine was $475 shipped to California.

Had the cash saved up for the header but went for the wheels first.
My scale shows the factory 15 inch steel wheels at 26 lbs each, the Enkei wheels are 15.6 lbs. I'm thinking by dropping 40 pounds off the rotational weight it will surly help the mpg, I'm keeping tabs on it.
I'm hoping the combo of light wheels and the LCE will make a even bigger improvement.
Still saving $ for a LCE, may be a while unless I find a used one.
I'm mostly interested in lowering the toque curve and gaining mileage.

My LCE header has been sitting in the garage for a while. I wanted to replace the muffler first so I could better hear the difference in sound with the header. Also want to run through a few tanks of gas to see if there is a MPG increase with just the muffler change (there was). Muffler has been on for a while, almost time to install the header!

The torque/HP chart from LCE is below. Am I reading it right? It says we gain 60 ft-lbs at 1,000 RPM? That's crazy! :D

I hope so! I just ordered my LCE header. It's supposed to be here 11/4. I'm stoked to get it on!

Wizardry is right. On the same scales, using ft-lb and hp, the torque and horsepower curves must cross at 5252 rpm

No dyno starts at 0 rpm

Since when do our engines turn 6000 rpm?

You'd go straight to Slytherin if you turned this in for homework
