Just had my Leer cap installed and I did not test the dome light before I left. I have tried turning it on with the truck on and off. Brake light is working just fine. I see four wires coming from light assembly and four wires going into the plug/fuse box inside the cap. I checked the fuses and all look good. Anyone have any ideas so i can try and fix before I visit the installer tomorrow?

Check the dome light? It might run off the switch in the truck that turns on the bed light

Try turning on your headlights, then hitting the dome. To get it to come on without having headlights flipped, you'll need to wire the dome light directly the to battery. Unless your installer was going for extra credit, it's not likely they did that for ya.

My dome light was wired directly to the battery, it should be a constant hot source. I don't know why any installer would tie a dome light into a switchable power source.

Unless you upgrade the 100xr typically just comes with a push button LED..

You were exactly right. My headlights must be on for the dome light to turn on. THANK YOU. Anyone care to post pictures and or instructions to wire directly to the battery?

Following up on this old thread— I have the same issue except turning on headlights still doesn’t activate the dome light. 3-outlet attachment shows voltage, the brake light definitely works on the same circuit.
