I asked the dealer to inspect the transmission since I occasionally get the hesitation to engage into drive. They wanted to keep it over night so they could test it cold as well as hot. They put me in a free loaner car, a fresh off the hauler brand new Corolla.

Transmission fluid level at normal/full. Mechanic could not reproduce the issue, which I expected since it is occasional. He erased the learning data and I am starting fresh.

U-joints are the non-grease type, no grease/zirk fitting.
U-bolts at proper torque, no tightening needed.
No detached glue joints under the hood.
    No whistles no vibrations.

Thanks for this report. Not many are giving good news. As a not-so-soon to be 2017 owner, this makes me feel more confident.

They don't do anything at 5k service, except rotate the tires. It's called the Sunshine service by dealership service advisors.... open the hood and let sun shine on it for 30 minutes, then call customer to come pick it back up. I asked mine to check tranny fluid and they said they did but I found out they lied and it was low.

How did you discover they lied?

They don't check it. They hook it up to the techstream. Shows OK. Done.

It's low if it's an automatic.

I marked the bolt, it was not disturbed no signs of check and then had it checked a 2nd time by another service shop and it was found low. Reported to Toyota Corporate and they did nothing. Asked for extended warranty and was denied.
