Just hit 1000 miles on my 22. Might as well throw it away and get a new one.

Nice thing about modern gm vehicles is knowing that every part you replace is better quality than what came on the vehicle from the factory. And you will eventually replace every part on it.

I went over 1k on my Tacoma last week! Fun truck I love it!

I've had a good amount of older cars in the past few years, I regret selling my 2006 Honda CRV SE awd. It had around 230k miles and it would not skip a beat.
I owned a 91 subaru legacy wagon RHD until last year, does that count? lol. I only sold it since it was an extra vehicle, very solid car. I've mostly have owned Toyotas and Honda's since I started to drive.

Subie in the background, but the buggy is my 'extra' car. It will be nice to have the Tacoma so I can tow that a little easier. The Subaru struggled a little.

At about 1500 miles on mine which Ive had for a little over 2 months. I only put around 8k a year on my vehicles cuz I live close to work.
Im getting right around that for gas mileage. 22ish. Incredible for a truck. I hand calculate at the pump and the onboard caluculation has been generous by about a half gallon every fill up so far. I also live in a rural flatland area so not what most would consider city driving and almost zero highway. All flat 45-55 farm roads for the most part.

Proudly crossed the 10K line in my 2021....
Today, rather short trip around town ( ie: secondary streets ) I popped almost 25MPG

Pretty shocked at that really. I think you'll see a bit better MPG upon real break-in.

Yes it counts. I'm a Honda guy originally myself.

I was making a joke about how many guys w/ WRX's end up switching over to Tacoma's once they realize they might need to haul shit or look a little older to the ladies

You can't go wrong with Toyota, or Honda ( ridgeline being the exception ), or a Subaru.
Between Honda and Subaru I go Subaru all the way.

If you live in Vermont a Subaru is mandatory. After living there for 10 years I moved to Florida and was able to get a Tacoma :)

    Work in progress...
I rented a Subaru last time I was in Hawaii. I drove that thing all day and think I had to put about 3 gallons of gas in it before I turned it back in.

Just filled up the tank for the first time yesterday at about 340 miles - burning the dealer's "free" tank of gas since delivery a couple weeks ago. A solid 21-22 mpg in mixed driving. Replaced a Chevy Express 3500 with 315,000 miles. (kids gone now so no need for 15 passengers :)

Looking forward to testing out the towing in a few weeks after about 500 miles of break-in. We have two Prius without catalytic converters in the family, waiting until an estimated Feb 23 delivery of OEM parts from Toyota. (ridiculous) One car owned in NorCal is in LA on the street and one owned in SoCal is up here in NorCal on the street - so I'm planning a towing swap for late November.

    @Lerry

Like some have said, you're just getting started...enjoy that truck!

    I came from a long-term 2003 Honda Pilot EX...then 18 months with a Mazda CX-9 after my Pilot was a total loss in a low-speed accident.

Anyhow, 17 months later and almost 15K miles, I am very comfortable in my Sport.

I don't pay too much attention to that electrical mileage gauge thing...I reset the mile tracker and I get 345+ miles per tankful.

I also have the "skewp", which attracts attention (in a good way!). lol
