Do you have anything that adds weight such as bumpers, winch, full skids, RTT, etc? 3500 RPMS at 75mph sounds ideal to me!

Sliders and a tube front bumper but other than that not much added weight. It’s a 4 banger so more revs are not a bad thing, but it is a little excessive at times lol. If you dont drive a bunch on the hwy, it makes it really peppy around town which is nice

Adding weight is not going to change the RPM.

I'm getting 4.56 gears next month for my 34's (actually 33.86" per manufacture specs). I do alot of highway driving between camping locations, so I do not want very high RPM's when cruising. With the 4.56 gears and 80 mph I should be turning 2606 RPM. Think thats perfect IMO.

Just installed 4.56 gears from ECGS, I'm on 33s right now but planning on going to 35s, I turn around 2600-2700 rpm at 80mph with the 33s, with 35s it should be perfect!

Carson01 sorry to bug you but when you say "perfect" are you expecting the RPM's to drop? If so by how much? TIA

with 35s I should be sitting right at 3k rpm at 70! so the rpms will drop slightly but will not cause the transmission to start searching for gears!

You need to change to a different overall gear ratio.

Changing from a (example) 4.10 rear end to a 4.88 rear end means the engine, transmission need to generate more revolutions for a given speed. You essentially LOWERED the gear ratio. You need a HIGHER ratio to reduce the engine revolutions.

This is why Overdrive transmissions are typically 1:1 or higher (0.9:1)

    I'm at 2400-2500 rpms at 70mph on 35s and 4.88. Auto 4.0.

    Do floor mats count? ;)
    I run 275/80 R17 (32.7" dia) and 4.30 gears with a 6 speed manual.
I turn 2,700 RPM to run 70 MPH. Just about perfect for "33s"
