Nice work! These are awesome! Great for mounting a portable winch, carrying a cooler and a bunch of surf fishing rods, bike racks or any other hitch mounted accessories.

I have a Curt hitch in front too, all those who think a trailer can be turned easy enough from the rear have not seen what the front hitch approach can maneuver around. My trailer parking has a tightly angled approach and it is not possible to pull straight out of it using the rear without swinging the back end of the trailer into the side fence. The front end approach lets me turn the trailer around the house corner in a much shorter distance.

I put a GoRhino step in front when Im city driving- its not a plate bumper but has stopped inexperienced parallel parkers from backing into my truck. The front step also makes engine maintenance and window cleaning easier.

Also, having an front hitch makes a great recovery point, Hi-Lift jack point for the front two wheels, and a removable winch mount so I can have 2 winches in 1- a rear and front one.

I will check on the step. Also a good point about using a winch on front or rear. I never use for off road so clearance is not an issue.

image.jpg My wife never could learn how to back a trailer, with the front hitch she can launch and recover my boat with no problems. Had Curts on my last three trucks, the Tacoma got one as soon as one for this gen was available.

More expensive but no ground clearance loss and no affect with the RCI skid. I had the Curt hitch until about 3 weeks ago...

I edited my post above - but yes- the step has helped with warding off a bad parker, as well as giving us better engine compartment and window washing access. I have also concidered drilling a hole on each end of the step to make removable mounts for support poles for the front of my 18’ sea kayaks.

It is such a convenience having two winches in one, one in front and back! Is that the 12000 lb. model? Must weigh +100lbs? Its also nice to be able to take that off the front when it’s not needed!

I just took this photo. It looks like the factory skid plate is at least 3 inches lower that the hitch.

Or use a hitch extender in the upright position.

I like it! In my case, the support poles double as kayak lifting handles so my wife can help load them too.

It an M 8000...torn between getting synthetic line but the cable is pretty much bullet proof and will last a lifetime unless you do something stupid. The whole setup weighs about 80 - 90 lbs and sits in the garage unless I take it off road. Then it sits strapped down in the bed unless needed (which hasn't happened yet). Ran heavy gauge welding cable to the back so it work there as well via anderson plug if needed.

overall ground clearance probably isnt an issue but approach angle would be if you offroad. I personnaly use my truck for daily driving, utility use, and offroad. I would love a front hitch but the approach angle wouldnt work for me.

If you're a regular daily driver, this set up is perfect. Im not trying to knock anything.
